yay dresses!
i went dress shopping for the first time today! it was so much fun! i had my mom, two sisters, and two of my friends there with me so it was very nice and my friends can be brutally honest and know my tastes, so it was a nice balance between that and 'oh, you look so beautiful!' (<-- my mom). anyways, i started out with the big poofy gown that first pops to mind when you think 'bride' and it was gorgeous, but something wasn't right. it didn't 'fit' me, i felt like a little girl playing dress up (which was still fun, don't get me wrong! ![]()
). anyways, that threw me off a bit cuz i always thought i'd get a full a-line, but apparently that's not so. the dress i ended up falling in love with was a fitted straight skirted one with only a bit of a train and a small bustle (i always wanted a big train and bustle) but it looked so nice! my mom started crying and my friends teared up (that never happens!) and i didn't want to take it off. i'm gonna shop a little more since i've only been out once, but so far that's the one! i'd post a pic, but i'm nervous about fh finding it, even though he's never on here.
as a side note, it felt really nice trying them all on. i was afraid i was gonna feel huge by the end of the night (since trying on clothing tends to do that) but all the samples fit me quite well and i LOVE corseted tops! =0P
