YAY!!! someone bought us gifts from registry

Ok i registered but didn't expect to get anything off of it for x-mas. Our wedding is over a year away, we don't live together and where would we put any of these things, ya know. I only registered now in case for the e-party anybody would ask us about a registry. And i figured they wouldn't buy any home things maybe like keepsake things that are in there.

Well i got a letter in the mail yesterday from BBB to tell us about some items that might be discontinued. I checked before to see which items it might be and someone bought us something, so i am guessing we're getting it for x-mas...its great its the homedics massage chair thing. Its funny bc i bought one for my dad yesterday and i was thinking i would love one but eh i have it on my registry i'll wait the year or whatever to get it. I wonder who bought it since most ppl don't know about our registry, i think i know though ....OMG I JUST REALIZED IT!!!! i saw a HUGE box FMIL bought me that must be it......ahhh i ruin surprises

UPDATE: two things they bought, also the home ipod entertainment center thing, FMIL def probably bought that for her son.

I know. . .as soon as I got engaged I couldn't wait to register!!! It was sooo much fun scanning all the items! I constantly checked the website---to see who bought what! (Especially when it came closer to my engagement party!)

People normally will wait until the bridal shower. ALso depends what you have on there, i put alot of NON-wedding and home things lol, i even put a punch bag lmao...but his mom is just like that, nobody else is gonna get anything for a looong time, probably bridal shower

It was fun but FH was annoying me.

Me: Let's put this roasting pan on.

FH: what do we need that for?

Me: To roast

FH: What?

Me: To roast things like turkey for thanksgiving.

FH: But melanie we registereed for the Showtime Rotiserri. We don't need that. Just set it and forget it



Me: Ok let's put this microwave on

FH: What do we need that for?

Me; To heat stuff up.

FH: But the Showtime Rotiserri! We don't need it. Set it and forget it!!

LOL thats funny...Yeah we were like hmmm this is nice ok just put it on there, if people like it they'll get it if not whatever lol. And you need to give people ALOT of options. I had to buy something off a registry soon, not for a wedding though...i was gone that weekend i got the invite and when i looked at the registry most of the good stuff were gone...only a few things left and they were all like $10, i dont want to buy like 10 things ya know...and there was just 1 page of stuff...better to have alot of options

My philosophy is if you decide yo don't need it you can return it!

SOOOO true, some guys are different though and might not understand why we need certain things i guess. Guys dont know much about kitchen things and home things in general.

Well i guess ours was useful because it gave her ideas of what to get us. Well not everyone uses a registry for the e-party...Just about everyone i know doesn't give gifts for that, but one person did ask me, and i figured i'll do a registry and give it only to those who will ask about it.

But if its something you want to do then go ahead and do it soon

then say no you dont have a registry, say you feel its too soon or whatever. But just be prepared, those who did ask for a registry might just get you a gift regardless if that was their intention in the first place.
