yeps it poured!!
It POURED yesterday!!!
So yesterday was my shower at the Carltun in Eisenhower park. I wanted to have my wedding there and probably would have but it was booked for my date. It’s okay though I love my hall just as much! Anyway my shower was 7 months before my wedding because my Grandmother was here from Greece and since the shower was given by her, my mom and my sisters (who did an amazing job!!!) so we had it when she was here. Anyway, it was the most perfect shower I could have asked for. Everything from the food to the decorations to the presents and guest list were above and beyond what I had hoped they would be. I knew about the shower so I had a very good idea of the way I wanted it. I had a pink/black lingerie theme. My centerpieces were jewelry trees that looked like dress forms wearing different styles of lingerie, there were faux pink crystals spread out over the tables with black cocktail napkins. My favors were diamond ring key chains in pink netting with black ribbon along with custom made cookies that looked like a bustier and panties. There was also a large black dress form wearing a pink boa and different lingerie style boxes (ala Victoria Secret) on coffee tables etc. My Grandmother brought over from Greece a prika. Prika if I’m not mistaken is when you grandmother knits doily’s for your house...for your bedroom, dining room, and living room it's tradition that's passed down.
.We had a cupcake tower with pink and chocolate (to mimic the black) cupcakes that were insanely good. That table was also decorated with a mini candy bar with different pink candies. A very good friend of mine is a pastry chef and made the cookies and a ton of mini desserts to go along with the regular cake and the cupcake tower. There were passed hor’derves (sp?) and the most delicious champagne punch we have ever had. I want to get the recipe and have it at the wedding! I only mention this because I normally don’t like it but this one was outstanding! I had about 70-75 people at the shower so needless to say I got tons of gifts which were all so generous. I had a terrific time and am sad it is over but at the same time, now I can put all of my efforts into the wedding and I can concentrate on 1 thing. As soon as I have some I will post some pictures. It was a great shower if I do say so myself!
