Yes Hopkin, There is a Santa Claus

Okay I did a little digging into the trials and travails of Hopkin Green Frog and discovered this:

Yes, they made a t-shirt! Upon further investigation I found this explanation of the Hopkin Green Frog phenomenom as well as its origin. It's a somewhat bittersweet and slightly surreal story.

Hopkin Explained

Now, I'm not sure what to make of it all! I believe the humor of it remains as an interesting piece of found art, but the melancholy knowing that Hopkin must remain lost forever lends itself to a degree sadness.

Wow! Now I don't know WHAT to think

It will always remain humorous as you said, but now the 'real' story surely does take on an air of saddness

and to think about the boy .....

COOL!!! Just ordered the shirt

Why does the story make it sad? Because Terry is autistic? But it was funny if he was just stupid and had bad english?

I still think it is one of the funniest things I've ever seen ...

I just assumed it was written by a litte kid, like around 5 or 6! what really made me sad (in a strange and hilarious way) is that he'll never get his frog! All these people actually found it and wanted to give it to him, but it would actually be more traumatic for him to actually get it back! I don't really know... I guess I just felt a little guilty, but after reading the story a few more times... I'm still laughing at the original flier!
