Yes I am going there... Going to the bathroom in your wedding dress

So I have been thinking about this lately (yes, I have issues).

I need to wear spanx under my dress b/c I need to prevent chub-rub (thicker girls know what im talkin bout). But taking spanx down to pee in my 500lb wedding dress will be a project and since I sweat when it's snowing out it will be even more difficult.

The idea of not wear underwear and just spanx kind of freaks me out soooo I thought of wearing my underwears over my spanx.

Has anyone done this before?? Does it actually work??

I read an article a while back that said to face the toilet when you pee so you can put all your dress on top of the tank and it holds it up - which I thought was great, but the actual process of pulling anything down from under my dress freaks me out LOL.

can i just say i freakin love you eloise!!!!!!! i know exactly what youre talking about and honestly....i think im going to need to disrobe everytime im gunna go-- it is what it is.... thats what im thinkin

Seriously, I really fear this. I think my mom is going to help me. But my biggest concern, not to be graphic, is what if I have to do #2. And FYI, I'm a nurse. I see everyone's butt for a living and I'm still really freaked out about it!

I'm more concerned about breaking the seal... Then having to get to the bathroom every 5 minutes...

i think as long as i dont have to go in first dress, i'll be fine! otherwise, my sisters are going in there and holding my dress!

my problem is when i get nervous, i tend to have to go pee a lot even if i dont drink a lot of fluids!

All I know is, I'm not wearing anything under my dress besides underwear, and I am taking my dress of when I have to pee.. All that has to be done is a zipper in the back, and im not chancing having my dress fall in the toilet. So my MOH is fully aware she will be seeing me just in my undies many times throughout the wedding!

CRASHING...

I had a big dress and I have crazy amount of chub rub!!! I actually tried this at my friends wedding and it works!!! I went out and bought Monistat 7 Chub Rub and it totally worked! My chub rub didn't bother me AT ALL! For another wedding I forgot it and just used deodorant and it worked as well. Try one of these tricks and if they don't work THEN last resort to spanx. Trust me, you'll be ripping them off within minutes of the party. I wore a backless bra that was a little uncomfortable but I wanted it to hold the girls up. Before the reception even started I ripped it off and let the dress hold me up! Go for comfort!

why won't you wear the spanx without undies? they have a liner in it

when i wear spanx, I dont wear undies...and they have spanx that have a 'pee hole' in them lol so you don't have to take the spanx down

wearing underwear over your spanx seems pointless to me lol

can i just say that this post will prob go down in LIW history as one of the funniest posts lol (the NW board had a list of funny posts)

i agree - if you want towear spanx - get the ones with the pee hole haha I have those and honestly its not that bad. but I am wondering about peeing with the spanx AND the dress... h,mm - hopefully your MOH is comfy seeing you pee! :) she can hold your dress while you do the rest

I am just wearing my undies and thats it no spanx no stockings nothing. So hopefully peeing wont be a PITA but thank God my MOH is my sister and my BM are my cousins and FSIL. Just let us know how it goes after the weddding

my bridal consultant at the dress store suggested that i actually take off the dress, since it is a step-in, not an over-the-head.

i don't know if i will do that. but I am sure my MOH and/or BMs will help (I helped my MOH pee at her wedding so it's payback)

if i have to do #2... i think it's my mom's job to help.

That Monistat stuff works great! I even use is to prevent blisters on my feet! It amazing!

My first thought was: 'I will not buy a dress if I can't go to the bathroom by myself'. Since that didn't happen... I will see if I can take it off if needed. If that is too hard, than I will utilize one of my sisters or a bridesmaid. I have had my sister with me after my colonoscopies so she is kind of used to it with me. One of my bridesmaids & I pee together often and do other things for each other that some people think are gross - popping pimples that the other one can't reach & stuff - so I'm not to concerned. As long as it stays clean... I'm happy.
