I've read a bunch of different posts on this subject and can't make up my mind but now its down to the wire and I have to complete the list and get the info to the Calligraphy place on Thursday. So I thought I would ask and see what you girls decided to do. Are you going to address the inner envelope and if yes, are you using a casual format- Aunt Joe & Unce Ron or the same as what you put on the outer? Also, are you doing every inner envelope or only those where you need to put & guest or kids names etc. Thanks!

Re: Yes or No to names on Inner Envelopes
We addressed the inner envelopes
Outer: Ms. Sarah Smith
Inner: Ms. Smith and guest
I liek this b/c if you invite someone with a (nameless) guest, it's on the inner envelope only.
we did it for all of them.

Re: Yes or No to names on Inner Envelopes
Yes! The outer envelope is a formal way to address. The inner envelope specifically names who is invited by name. The inner envelope lets people know if their children are invited, or if they can bring a guest.
Outer: The Smith Family (Or Mr. and Mrs. William Smith) Inner: Bill, Jane, Ashley and Mark
Outer: Miss Hillary Jones Inner: Hillary and Guest

Re: Yes or No to names on Inner Envelopes
When I did inner envelopes, I went with the formal 'Mr. & Mrs. First/Last Name' but made an exception for close friends and family. For them I did 'Aunt XX' just because I felt like it. For people invited with a guest, if I knew who they were dating, I put both of their first names on the inner envelope. If I wasn't sure, I just did 'XX and Guest'.

Re: Yes or No to names on Inner Envelopes
yes yes yes!!!! i totally wanted the inner envelopes and did the outer this way:
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Schmo
Inner:
Mr. and Mrs. Schmo Larry, curly, moe
and if it was single person, on outer I would just put mr. or ms. xxxx xxxx and mr. or ms.xxxx and guest...
i hate having and guest or kids name on outside envelope

Re: Yes or No to names on Inner Envelopes
I included inner envelopes for everyone, and used just first names on all but one.

Re: Yes or No to names on Inner Envelopes
We decided it was not necessary for our invitations but we did put number of guests on some of the RSVP's because we thought that was NECESSARY! It's whatever you feel comfortable with!

Re: Yes or No to names on Inner Envelopes
We are doing formal on the outside, and semi-formal on the inside.
OUTER: Mr. and Mrs. John Doe or Mr. John Doe Ms. Jane Smith
INNER: John and Jane Doe or John Doe and Jane Smith or John and Jane Doe and Family

What if you are doing pocketfolds? I think they only come with one envelope.
