Yes...MORE wedding coordinator questions!

Yes...MORE wedding coordinator questions!

HI all!

Thanks so much for the responses to my request for coordinator recs - they were SO helpful and I have 2 consults already scheduled. So, my inevitable follow up questions for brides who used either a planner or DOC.

1. How many did you meet with before choosing?
2. What sorts of questions should I make sure to ask?

As always, any advice/help is welcomed, as are more recs for coordinators! Thanks so much!

Re: Yes...another wedding coordinator questions!

1) I met with about 6 before I chose
2) I would make sure to ask how many weddings they do a year, how long they have been in the business, how many appointments they go to per vendor type, how and when they will available to talk to you, and what exactly their services include.

I would highly recommend Meaghan Sinisi from Fruition Events.

She is amazing and has so many different packages from a Brides Best Friend which will help you through the entire process to Day of Coordinator - She is also very helpful with Menus, Favors, Invitations and just about all those little details!

Check out her web site:

Re: Yes...MORE wedding coordinator questions!

I met with one before choosing my DOC (Christine from EAP) She will be with me for about 5 hours but she's an old friend of FSIL so she may be staying for the reception also.

We just asked:

-what is included in her services?

-what's the craziest situation she's had to deal with? (let us know how much pressure she could handle)

-why is having a DOC important?
(it's really something you get if you can afford it; if not you will have bridal attendants and maitre d's to help you at the RH; it's not a necessity). I really wanted a DOC to help with preparation, the ceremony, and making sure everything is the way I want it at the RH.

-how many meetings will you have before the wedding?

-can you contact her/him about anything wedding related?

I spoke to a few but really really clicked with Lisa from Elite Affairs. I was going to meet with the others but I was sold after I met Lisa.

I asked her:

What was included in her package?

Whats the purpose of DOC? (AT THE TIME i ONLY HEARD OF IT FROM LIW)

Re: Yes...MORE wedding coordinator questions!

Well we had decided about a little over 2 months before the wedding we wanted & neede a DOC for our wedding. SInce we live upstate, it was not possible to travel for each appt wiht everyone we spoke with. I had about a dozen phone interviews & I can honestly tell you that when I spoke with Gina from Bleu Diamond Events she had made me feel SO calm right from the first 2 sentences. She has a way about her that comes across the phone & that's what made DH & I immediately set up an appt to meet & consult w/her in person. We loved her even more in person & booked her right on the spot! I am so glad we hired her & would not hesitate to recommend her or use her services again for my next catered affair.

As far as what I asked her I dont remember all the ?'s I wrote down, but I basically told her what I was looking for & expected from our DOC & asked if this was something she would be capable of handling & executing - when she ran down the list of what she does & that what I wanted would also be included in there we were more than thrilled.

depends - if you get 1/2 day services that could include just getting ready for the ceremony up to the reception or it could be from after ceremony through reception. if you get full day DOC services it is from beginning of your day until last person leaves the venue.
