OK so in September FH got a concussion from playing. Now he has a popped calf muscle and is walking with a limp from today's game. I told him I felt bad that he hurt himself and he was in pain, but now I am starting to get pi$$ed that he is putting himself at risk for truly getting hurt. He told me that he doesnt play that much but two injuries in 4 months? Come on now.

Geez. At this rate he will have another injury right befpre the wedding!!!
Tell him he needs to take it easy for his own sake. It could have been a lot worse!!
(I had the same dilemma with Andrew. He wanted me to stop wrestling for fear of me injuring myself, so I agreed)

There is nothing I can do that will stop him from playing. I wouldnt even try. The wedding is irrelevant. Our best man's wife forbade him to play before their October wedding of last year. I never take him away from what he loves. All I do is say, you play you pay. Little sympathy here when there is an assumption of risk.

If I thought banning him from playing would result in him stopping, I would. He is a big boy and he should know how much this upsets me. Thats why I show him little sympathy. Listen, if he breaks his neck, his best man will just have to stand in for him and kiss me while hes in traction because come hell or high water, this wedding WILL, I repeat this wedding WILL happen!

Me too so that I can punch him in the gut for doing this to himself so close to the wedding. THEN he will know pain. At this point I really dont care anymore as long as the bruises arent visible. And if they are, they will make me look THAT much better! Damn football!

I hear ya!!! My FH plays football every Sunday, and thank goodness the Sunday after we took our Engagement pics, he caught the ball and got an elbow to the nose by an opposing teammate. THANK GOD it was NOT broken.
