I thought I had found my hair and makeup team this time, and then the trial happened. This was my third make up and hair trial and it was horrible. When I looked at myself in the mirror I thought that someone was playing a practical joke on me. 25 days to my wedding and still nothing! WHY ME????

what didn't you like? maybe you are just not used to seeing yourself with a lot of make up.

I have not tried any LIW vendors. I am not in LI so some of the vendors I contacted either dont travel to the city or are already booked (like Angela, and Mya)...Also, my hair and makeup trial budget has diminished with all the trials, so I cant do more than $250 for both. I am hoping to book hair and make up together, either a team or a person that does both, because I am running out of time.Let me look for a picture I can post...

I want something like this.. I have showed different pictures like these to the stylists and they have not gotten it! If it was just a simple thing we could adjust for the day of, then I would be okay with that.But that has not been the case.

I live in the bronx but i have been doing my trials in Manhattan where my mom lives and where I will be getting ready the day of.

I am most frustrated with hair because they have all been awful for the most part. Make up has not been as bad at the hair but the first one I felt like it borderlined costumy, the second, she was very nice, but is like she did not know what looked good on me, and in the end, the make up colors she used, just did not flatter me, even after I told her what I liked. So I questioned her taste. and todays, one: she works in a team, and I really hated the hair! two: the eyes were actually pretty good, but she did a weird color thing by my nose and and put some shimmery thing on my lips that were awful, which I can probably just tell her not to do on the day of and third, which I am not sure if its just me, but she used cover girl makeup. I mean i can use that myself and not have to pay $125. I have pics, but they are too painful to post.

Awwwww I'm sorry you're not liking these trials... and I agree about the drugstore makeup... may as well do it myself then...
But maybe you're thinking about it too much? I mean, you do have to like it, butif you're up to posting, maybe some objective eyes could help you out?

My wedding is in very early august and I still have not found hair or makeup ive liked and ive had two trials. im worn out, i just want to find someone im confident with and no one seems worth the money!! argh!! im stressing about this too. Good luck and please

go to a makeup counter and go get a trial! Like Laura Mercier or Mac or estee lauder... Go to Lord and Taylor's over by midtown west. You probably have to spend $20 at most to buy a product. if the girl is good then negotiate with her - plus you know that they travel to Manhattan.
The other option, go to Lord & Taylor in Eastchester/Scarsdale... most will travel.
