Yet another thing to stress me out....

I just heard from a girl that I work with something to stress me out!
The girl was in a wedding last week. One of the bridesmaids had her dress tear up the entire seam. This was before the ceremony. They had to quickly sew it. Then it happened again during the reception. I saw pics of this girl and the dress didn't look too tight on her or anything. It was just shotty sewing!

I'm stressing because the place where these girls got there dresses is the same place that I got mine!! Its also not the first time that I have heard horror stories about the seamtress! I also know a girl whose sis used them and her BM dresses didn't come in until a week before her wedding.
What do I do? I know that my wedding is months away but I'm still nervous. I don't want to make my BP have to shell out more $$ to go to another place for alterations.

How much are the alterations at the place you got your BM's dresses? I would take the dresses somewhere else.

The alterations are capped at $75. Which for my BP is affordable.

I think I would call around to see if anyone could help you out. Are you getting your wedding dress there also? If not I would call there explain the situation, they maybe able to help you.

Are you sure the seam that tore was one the seamstress sewed? It may have been a manufacturing defect. Just make sure to check the seams carefully before bringing the gowns home from the shop. Give a gentle tug & look closely. They should be nice & tight & you shouldn't be able to see the thread from the outside of the gown.

DON'T WORRY! Just pay extra attention to the seams and MAKE SURE they are tight and neat. Hey, on a positive note, at least now you know what to watch out for!

I'd try to ruin your dress when you go for your fittings, make sure the seams are tight.

Definitely test them out at the fittings, this way they have more time to fix it and for you to make sure that it's sewed appropriately. Where did you get the dresses from?
