i didnt know those things were so expensive. im looking at monogrammed ones and they are like 100 (at the cheapest) and up for the 3 set!? is that the norm?

I made mine b/c they were all soo expensive... The wooden cake topper was about $10 from Crafty Eddie and then the cryastals and the paint was an addational $20 give or take...pics in my album under DIY...
depends on which ones you want.. mine are lenox mickey and minnie.. so they were a gift.. but check ebay

Not sure if it's costing me more in the long run....but we're not doing a cake topper, we're having flowers all over the cake and some dragonflies as well, as that's sort of a theme in the wedding, as all the girls have dragonfly crystal pins in their bouquets....but no cake topper, have you thought of just flowers or something?

I agree...and I'm taking it one step further by using the sugar flowers that are already on the cake...it's going to taste like crep anyways, so may as well try to make it look pretty. I hate cake lol.
I am only using a cake topper for display because we were given one as a gift. Otherwise, I never would have went out of my way to purchase one.
