would you be upset if your bachelorette party was over a month before your wedding. Must have had the shower on my mind since i just peeked at the registry

that would annoy me - that's something that should be done like a week to two b4 the wedding!

Re: Yikes...I meant bachelorette party
It would bother me as well, but if that's the only time all of my BM could be there, than I'd rather have it early.

Wow.... maybe you can get some of them to just be with you (not as a formal Bachelorette party) while he is in Vegas.

Re: Yikes...I meant bachelorette party
i don't think it's such a big deal to have the bachelorette party that far in advance. i can understand you not wanting to sit home while you FH is out raising hell, but i see nothing wrong with having it early.

Re: Yikes...I meant bachelorette party
I don't see it as a problem at all. Mine was a month before (due to scheduling), and I know plenty others were too. I never even considered that the date would detract from it in some way.
DH had his bachelor party 3 weeks before (they went skiing in Vancover) -and his brother, our BM caught pnemonia - the 3 weeks was barely enough time for him to recover.
In my opinion, you're better off with having more time than less. So you can relax and be less stressed about what you still have to do AND so you have time to recover from any unforseen circumstances.

Re: Yikes...I meant bachelorette party
I wouldn't mind at all for the reasons LisaT posted and because my MOH lives in Virginia. I really want her there and if it means having the bachelorette party 1 month in advance I wouldn't mind. For my friend's wedding, we had her bachelorette party a couple of weeks before her FH had his bachelor party, so on the day of her FH's bachelor party we took her out again. Nothing big, we just went to a club and had some drinks. Maybe you could do that.
Edited to say that FH's bachelor party will be in February 2004 (we're getting married in May 2004). They're going to New Orleans during Mardi Gras.

Re: Yikes...I meant bachelorette party
It wouldn't bother me at all. They are being nice enough to even have one for you - and maybe it's convenient for all of them. I would never be annoyed at a 'gift'. Besides, it spreads the fun out a little longer, rather than having everything right on top of each other.

Re: Yikes...I meant bachelorette party
If it makes you feel better, mine is 2 months before the wedding!!!!!!!!!!!! A bit ridiculous. but I didn't have much say. My sisters were going to try and suprise me but I found out. They are doing it this early since my best friend will be in from Miami as will my FMIL. So I can't complain too much except that I am not that excited since it seems so early....
