Yippee! I got a dress

I just got back from Bridal Suite in Bay shore. Thank you to the ladies who recommended Mary Ellen. She was great!!! I recommend her also. She knew what she was doing, wasn't pushy, but offered her ideas, suggestions and shared opinions (gently). In fact, Mary Ellen is actually the one who found the dress I picked in the end. I almost didn't try it on b/c it was very similar to another dress I tried on in a different store. But it was ever so slightly different that it made it just right.

I went in, she got the dress I thought I wanted. Then, to satisfy my curiousity I tried on 4 others in satin. They were lovely, but it confirmed my original feeling about the dress!



In all, I ended up going to 3 places and trying on about 20 dresses. Hmm...seeing that in writing makes me think it wasn't as quick as I was feeling. I guess I thought it would be torture and it wasn't! LOL!

Mary Ellen is WONDERFUL!!! She convinced me to try on this one dress which was a style i was not interested in and guess what?! It's now my dress. We were there Wednesday night because my mom had been to over 20 bridal stores looking at dresses for her and couldnt find one. Needless to say, MaryEllen did the same thing for her! Mom found her perfect dress too!

My mom toooo! She got a dress in about 20 minutes - including trying it on, picking a color, and trying other dresses just for the color. And, Mary Ellen was popping in and out of a different appt.

Not sure if you noticed that there's a pic of her and her husband on the table near the front desk...along with other brides.

I don't have a picture of the dress, nor do i know the dress style name. It's by White One (a Pronovias label). If I find one that is similar I will post it. It's strapless with scalloped edges, subtle pearl and crystal beading throughout an ivory lace overlay. It's kind of mermaid/a-line. fitted at the top but flares into A line just below my hip....but it's not fluffy. I love it!
