You all have me scared....

with my post last week about why people dont write where they are getting married and whatnot.....i'm thinking about calling the vendors that I have so far and giving them a secret code or word or something that they to ask for just in case someone tries to call and cancel!!!

Yeah when I said something about why do people not put their vendors on here, some of the replies were that lurkers came on here and called people's vendors and cancelled them. I'm thinking that it probably was people that knew them but still!

i wouldnt worry about that- your vendors would not just cancel without speaking to you- thats crazy!

I think it happened a while ago - that a bride had someone call her vendors and mess things up for her.

I honestly think that's the extreme but I guess you never know.

I don't think it's needed to remove everything but just be really careful. If you do a google search for certain things some of the threads from LIW do pop up, so all this info on the site is in cyber space.

i wouldn't be scared. remember i did this once before and had no problems. I guess if you have an enemy, then i'd worry.

I would think that the person who had their things cancelled that the person must have known that bride because most of us do not have out last names on here for people to be able to cancel our vendors. So someone must have known that bride. I would just be careful about what you post

Yeah I remember hearing something about that a while ago when someone on here tried to call up and cancel a vendor another bride had booked or tried to cause problems for the bride with the vendor.

It's ridiculous that someone tyr would and do that to someone else but you know what it's the vendor that's going to get screwed in the end because you have a contract with this person and if they try and cancel yours to book with someone else, that's really bad for business

I highly doubt that would be a problem. If you have contracted with a vendor, there is probably some type of clause in your contract that requires any cancellation be in writing.

Unless you have people that are out to get you, I think secret codes is a bit over the top.

i don't think that any vendor would just cancel your contract with them without speaking with you or your FH first. they have to confirm before they cancel.
also, when something liek that happens, i would think that maybe that bride and the person who canceled for her might have had something going on that no one else knows about and that is why that hapepned. jmo, because why would someone go to all that trouble?
