just wondering the opinions of prior posters who have now had their wedings

I managed to get the $250 tiara I wanted but for under $54

I think it depends on the vendor and situation. There were some great deals we got that were high quality

BUT in some situations, you really do get what you pay for

I think some people are so stuck on price that they won't even look at something cheaper.

For instance, when we booked Mediterranean Manor in November 2004 I heard from some girls. I got comments like 'Why would you want to cheapen your day with a hall under $150 per person?' Are you kidding me?!?! They were amazing to us from the time we signed right through our reception! They made us feel like family.

And some of guests tried giving us more money during the reception because they thought what they put in their cards wasn't enough and they were embarrassed. (Of course, we refused.) And let me tell you, what they put in the cards was WAAAYYY more than enough.

I don't think price = quality. Other factors are played in like how long the vendor has been in business.

I'm always willing to give the underdog a chance!

I agree. Anyone has the potential to be good, whether they are inexpensive or expensive. It really depends on the person, or vendors talent and work experience.

My mom's DJ was amazing (we're using him)-a family friend and he is charging us $1400 for the whole shabang! He is very reasonable even if we didn't get a discount.

I think that if something costs less than it is inexpensive and could be just as good quality as the expensive one. There is a difference in cheap. That is cheaply- poorly made.

Honestly, I guess it depends on what you are looking to get...... Flowers and DJs, I think would be the same no matter how expensive they are, but pictures, I don't think you will get the same quality.

It all depends... LOL, I would never get a discount parachute if I was going sky diving.
