You get what you pay for!! RANT
Another lesson in getting what you pay for. When we were moving in the house, we decided it would be too much for us to paint ourselves and we decided to hire someone. A guy my BIL works with was highly recommended, he does it on the side, is a perfectionist, etc. etc. and while it wasn't cheap, it was a good amount less than a professional. I get all the paint, I used lots of color, great, Im all excited. Well....this guy was not the perfectionist he claimed to be. Yes, he painted the walls and ceiling fine for the most part but the edging is soooooo messy, it p*ssed me off from the get go. If he had just put up that ^%$ blue painter's tape, there would have been no problem. But he obviously didn't. I saw it the second I walked in the house and commented on it and he insisted he would fix it, in fact his exact words were 'Of course I'll fix that, that's what makes it look sloppy' - he never did. Every room either the edging of the wall color is on the ceiling or trim or vice versa. Or the edging on the moulding around the closets & doorways is not finished neatly. BTW, this was 2 months ago but b/c he works with my BIL, DH didnt want to make a stink (and it doesnt bother my DH which is just annoying me further) so I figured, fine I'll fix it. Well, it's the biggest pain in the a$$ to fix this stuff. What a headache! I'm so mad now that I am finally getting around to fixing it, it's taking me so long. Geez, I would have freaking come over and put up the blue tape for him if it was such a problem!!!! The thing that p*sses me off the most is that he was a so-called (and self proclaimed) perfectionist. Allright Im done ranting....I better get back to it while Luke is asleep....
