I don't get why we brides have to go through the headache of numbering each and every RSVP card so that when people don't write their names down we will know who it is.
Have these people not been RSVPing to things their entire lives?? Who in their life has NEVER seen an RSVP card before?? I really don't get it!!! Why is it so hard to remember to write your name...I guarentee they've done it a bunch of times before!!!
Its like weddings make people stoopid or something.

It is ridiculous, but it's a good idea to prevent future stress.
I plan on getting the invisible pens, and one bride on here mentioned the obvious - if you use the invisible pen, you can just write the names on the back....no need for numbering!

My sister had to do this and I had to help....what a nightmare. She literally got back about 40 RSVP cards with no names, and just numbers. HOW hard is it to write your NAME on the NAME line that says Mr ___________________________
I will definitely be numbering the RSVP cards or writing the names on the back....you can't count on people to make this easy on you!

I explained doing this to some of my BMS and they thought I was crazy at first. But when I explained further and how so many ppl forget to write their names... they were like, ummm yea...that would drive me crazy...do it. But the invisible pen is best..writing their names instead of the numbers. Thanks to the bride to suggested it.

It's not just the people forgetting to write their names, you also have to deal with pranksters. A friend RSVP'd to another friend's wedding on behalf of 20 people, etc. He obviously didn't write his name on the card. She thought his comments were hysterical, but had a tough time figuring out who it was from.
