You may now call me Mrs.TC!
Ahhhhhh the wedding planning is over
It was a really wonderful experience, from the rehearsal dinner all the way through the honeymoon!! And thank you to everyone on LIW that has given advice and ideas, etc.
Rehearsal dinner:
Casablanca in Maspeth, Queens: Excellent food and service - we have been there many times before, but it was great that night. The food was served family style and everyone was happy.
Hair & Makeup:
Christine for makeup and Nas for hair from the Perfect Look - these girls are EXCELLENT and true perfectionists!! I was so happy with them and would highly recommend them. (I will post pics later.) Both are true artists.
Village Florist:
Located in Middle Village - wow! The flowers came out beautiful! I had a fall theme and what they put together for me was exactly what I had imagined.
ExecuStretch Limos:
recommended by a colleague of DH, they were on time and super friendly and professional.
Ceremony:
Everything was great, I was nervous which is to be expected. The only thing was that after I had spent numerous hours on my programs, faxed a copy to the priest and never got a response, left messages, etc - they changed the priest on us. That's right, the original priest we met with was NOT the priest that married us and we did not find out til the night before. And would not give us an explanation. So my programs had the wrong name on them, but at that point I didn't care! Also, the church itself was SO HOT - no AC.
Reception - Coral House:
While I was 95% satisfied with the CH, there were a few things that bugged me. First off, I will say, if I had to do it over again, I would choose a hall that has only 1 event at a time. DH and I arrived at the CH and walked in, only to stand in the hallway among other wedding guests and kids running around until the maitr'd came to get us 10 min later. Then, the bridal party missed out on some pics with us because the staff didn't know where we were (we were out back at the lake taking pics!!) We ordered chicken marsala as a main entree to choose from and what we got was NOT chicken marsala, and when we asked about it, we were assured that it was - it wasn't. This did not have mushrooms or brown sauce - it had a tomato sauce!!
The Pros Entertainment:
Well, I will say you get what you pay for. Looking back I wish I could have done a bot more research, but whats done is done.
Bill the DJ - he was excellent, entertaining, etc but not too much - just enough. The one thing I was disappointed in was that we picked Norah Jones 'Come Away With Me' for our last dance and he played a diff Norah song - so we did not dance to it and didnt realize the reception had ended!!![]()
