Remember how a pipe burst in the kitchen of my office and flooded the place? Remember that? And remember when my boss waited a week before really cleaning it up and it smelled like the sweaty armpit of a cadaver? And we all had a good laugh about it? Remember that?
Well here it is 2 weeks hence and there's still a lingering odor of mold and @ss on the other side of the office. My boss had the mold guy come in (hereafter referred to as Mold Guy) on Friday to rectify the situation. He had his mold-detecting tricorder thingy out and nothing was happening.
'Huh, no mold over here!' says Mold Guy, when there is clearly still a stink of mold! He goes all over the carpets and comes back with nothing!
'Must be the vents,' says Mold Guy. Well, obviously because the vents on the ceiling were so greatly affected by the soggy, swampy carpets.
So Mold Guy and his sidekick, Tonto, start vacuuming the vents and light covers all over the office. They get to the vent directly over my desk and start setting up their rickety ladder.
'You know what, I'll just move while you do this.' I said and scampered off a bit.
Mold Guy says all smarmily, 'Don't worry little lady, nothing will fall on you.'
I kid you not, as those very words escape his lips, the vent Tonto is cleaning comes crashing down and catches the corner of my garbage can causing it to somersault and empty it's entire contents outside my cubicle.
And hey, guess what, it still smells like mold on the other side of the office.
