I swear I cannot stand the audacity of some people. There were no childrens names on your invitation.. so why must you assume and insist on bringing your children to our wedding? I guess because they are coming from out of state, they felt it was ok to bring their kids, and make this decision for us.
I am having FH's mother handle this one, since it's her family....

Oh, I havent told her just yet. I gave that job to FH. He can prob put it alot nicer than I will... I told him to have his mom arrange for a babysitter for that night. It's not fair for them to bring kids, when my own family and friends are not bringing theirs. No kids means NO KIDS.. people just dont get it...

Thanks girls. And it's so funny, others in his family pulled the same stunt at my shower. Some of his family RSVP'd with 'a friend', or 'their daughter', etc. Meanwhile the friend and daughter were never invited to begin with... One lady even brought her friend 'because she never goes anywhere without her - they travel together'...
Have you ever heard of anything so ridiculous and rude in your life?

just because they're from OOT it doesn't give them the right to be rude and just ADD people to the RSVP. I have a cousin who i'm very close with coming in from Pa, and she has 2 kids. On the invite I only put her and her husband. I figure that if it's hard (since they don't live around here) she'll call and ASK ME if it's okay and then I'll let her bring 'em. But i knew that she would never be stupid enough to just add them on without asking me first. In fact, she's actually a REALLY smart woman and she's leaving the kids with her inlaws for the whole weekend while they're in NY.
Then i had another girl i invited and i hadn't given her a guest because i was already WAY over my limit and I wasn't even sure if she had a boyfriend (she's the type that goes from one guy to the next). But she texted and told me that she's definitely coming, but because she IS dating someone right now, she asked if it would be okay to bring him. She said that she just always feels awkward at weddings without a date. I totally was fine with that. I soooo appreciated that she ASKED me about it, rather than jut adding him onto the rsvp (or threatening not to come if she can't bring the boy - like so many other people seem to do). I definitely would not have let it slide if i felt like she was going behind my back or 'threatening' anything.
It's not that hard really - I don't know why people don't just ASK! It looks soooo much worse the other way.

I 100% agree with you. I mean, just pick up the phone and call.. dont just assume. If she called, I would politely tell her no children, but I would certainly assist in finding a sitter...

I could soooo see one of my guests trying to do that to me. The women from my church all seem to think they have certain rights that they DEFINITELY DON'T!! One lady who's in charge of basically coordinating weddings at the church actually called my boss to find out when exactly I'd be getting off work this past Friday (it varies each day, so i never really know). She did this b/c she wanted to meet with me at a specific time to go over ceremony plans. Hellooo!! Just wait till I get off work or save it for another day. That was sooo inappropriate. I'm still upset about it So i could definitely see some loser trying to call the RH. I would freak out on 'em sooo bad!
