She went out and bought 100 wedding favors w/out even asking me. I really don't like them .......they definately wouldn't be my choice. Iguess I should think of iit s one less thing to worry about

That stinks! What are they? Do you really hate them or R you ok with them? At least you don't have to worry about them or pay for them:) I'd just make sure to let her know your feelings so that she doesn't think that she can keep doing that sort of thing!

EWWWWW is right - what are they - can you talk to her very politely and tell her that you already have something specific in mind and that if they are returnable maybe she could exchange them for what you want if she wants to be so helpful?

Try to look at the positive side, Maybe she meant well, and was trying to save you a headache. There is nothing written in stone you have to use, them and she should have at least asked you. But its not such a bad thing... Keep a positive attitude, that should be the least thing to get upset over... good luck

OMG. How rude! Maybe you don't have to use them. How bad are they? At least you didn't pay for them.

If you had something else in mind, you can use that too. We had a few different favors for each guest.

IMO - i wouldn't use them at all! if you do, you're setting a bad precedent for the rest of your life!! for her to go out and buy something like that without even asking is rude!!!

Re: You won't believe what my MIL to be did
That's a little too much, but it sounds like she did what alot of MIL do in order to be 'helpful' (and really freakin annoying). I would just nicely say something like, 'It was so thoughtful of you, but we are actually going to be giving away xxx instead.' Could you use them for anything else (like to give away at an engagement party or shower, etc.?)
At least she's contributing to your wedding somewhat, right?

Re: You won't believe what my MIL to be did
You could always give them out as a second favor. What are they, maybe you could find something cute to go with them that will make you love the favor. Then your guests will get two!

How about using them for something else (e-party/shower)? I wouldn't worry about hurting her feelings...she didn't take your into consideration when she picked them out.

Re: You won't believe what my MIL to be did
if it were me this is one of those things I'd set my foot down on. Can you explain that while you appreciate the help you are going with XX. Are 100 enough? Maybe you can use the excuse that you need more than 100 and can't get the rest? Can you use them as other favors or in hotel bags? Helpful yes, but awfully presumptious!!

Yikes - personally I would say thanks but no thanks. Def. let her know you appreciate the thought but you'd rather that she have checked with you first.

Re: You won't believe what my MIL to be did
maybe you can use for the shower or engagement party.... but you should immediatly tll her you already know what you plan on giving.. that way she can return them while the store still takes them back
