Strange question, but after a shrill, incomprehensible and expletive-laced conversation with my FHs 13-year-old-sister I thought to myself 'Self, you were exactly like that once and if I met you at 13, I'd kick my own @ss.'
If you met your 13-year-old self today, would you kick your own @ss? Why?
I'd also like to note, that if I met my early-college self, I'd kick her @ss too.

Ugh, I would probably say what is up with your hair! Did anyone else have the hairsprayed bangs?
At 12 I started looking normal after an awkward pre-pubescent stage...Got contacts, started wearing makeup...So at 13 I was still learning how to put on makeup, and drop the baby fat...But, I had my first boyfriend! Silvio...Really cute...He emailed me after 9/11 because he knew I was working in the city and wanted to see how I was...

hmmm, 13, let me see, that was late 7th , early 8th grade? I was insecure. Trying to keep up with the other girls all the time.
I'm not different enough that I could really kick my 13 year old ***, but I think I would shake myself when I ever I decided not to do something b/c it was't cool.

The ages of 11-14 were not fun years for me. I wouldn't kick my arse, but I'd give myself a good talking to about standing up for myself and speaking up!!

I don't think I would've kicked my own a$$, but I definitely would've slapped myself across the face and said What is wrong with you Ms. Trying to get the Cool Girls to LIke Me?? I would've kicked my 17 year old a$$ though because that's when I thought it was cool to be this kind of troubled-stay-away-from-me-boyfriend-because-I'm-messed-up-and-I-like-it weirdy girl.
I regularly want to kick Seb's 13 year old self, he happens to turn up uninvited quite frequently!!!

Acutally i did and still do lurveeee you and yes i would kick my own arse because of my hair cut, the fact that i poured a bottle of sunin in my hair and turned it orange.
And because my first kiss was sooo gross. i should of held out for someone else.
and yes i did kick my sisters arses when they were 13.
oh yes liz my mother showed me the video she took at our 8th grade prom again just in case you forgot. i think you would want to kick your arse then too. bun head!!!!!

OMG definitely did the SUN-IN! And Manic Panic!? My hair went from blonde to green to blue to black! And it is naturally reddish brown! And Cure concerts with the high school guys I LUVED!!!!

Wow, if I met myself at 13 I would tell myself 'stop trying to be so dramatic. Meditating doesn't make you cool at 13. Oh yeah, stop going after guys who are 10 years older. They are out of your league and your big brother might have to hurt someone to save your baby-a$$'
On a good note, I would also say thank you for figuring out that classic clothes don't go out of style, so 15 years later, I can still wear dad's yellow cable knit Brooks Brothers sweater (I love that sweater!) and my Bass Weejun penny loafers
If I met my college self, I would have to say 'why didn't you date more, instead of pining away after someone who was unattainable? You wasted some good years'

I dyed my hair with cherry kool-aid (the grape didn't show up ).... I accidently dyed it black... torn jeans... baby tees... motorcycle boots... dear god, the flannel! 3LBS of black eyeliner... tons of lipstick... the ever-present I-hate-the-world attitude... I needed a daily @ss-kicking from 13-18!!
Princess... I MUST see that video! That hair!...that dress! And B.M. didn't even dance with me!! We just did that cheesy sway for 30 seconds!
Tourist....yes we did! I think we still are 'growing up' together! She's my MOH! and I'm her BM!

yep ever since jr highschool and we still see each other sometimes(when we can get away from our jobs and So's) and are in each others bridal parties...
And we email everyday except for when she takes snow days!!!
She is one of my BBF's LOL another blast from the past BBFFFFF Whatever that meant????

I'm having trouble remembering being 13 ... I can't even think if I have any pictures to jog my memory ...
I certainly spewed no expletives ... I shovelled snow at my friends house because I thought it was so neat to have to (I lived in an apt all my life). I think I was still pretty innocent and behaved ...

I was sooo stressed out as a child and sooo sensitive. I had no confidence!!! If I would go back I would change a few things.

UGGGHHHH!!! It was '83 and I had braces and a horrible Farrah Fawcet flip hair style.
If I could talk to my 13 yr old self, I'd say to be more outgoing and less shy around boys. The braces will come off, and you'll get a better hair cut/style.
Funny thing is, I e-mailed a wedding pic to some classmates from grammar school, and they said I look exactly the same. They recognized me immediately. AFTER 20 YEARS???@!?@!?@ I hoped I changed just a little bit....
