Getting bored at work today, although I just got a new project.
To help us through this long day, especially if you are at work right now, what is the biggest drama that has happened so far with your wedding planning?

My Sister!!!! HAHA My oldest sis thinks that she is the center of attention. We had to change the dresses everyone else picked out b/c she said she would looke like a blueberry! Then, I even changed the shade of blue as well. Now, the biggest part, she just got surgery so she will lose weight, b/c she is very much overweight... I am happy for her b/c she will finally be healthy, but she keeps on complaining about the price of adding 50 for a rush delivery for the dress and she deosn't want to just 'wing' a size... Sooo frustrating! LOL. She's the most drama of my planning SO FAR! haha

Re: Your drama stories!
I guess I will get it started -- nothing too dramatic happening here, but it looks like half of my family won't be coming to the wedding! At least half of them are perfectly capable of traveling long distances and cost is not an issue for them, but I haven't even gotten a card that says 'congrats' yet event though they were invited to the e-party and also got a STD. It is really frustrating because these relatives never make an effort to see us and I am trying to be nice and so I invited them, but they have pretty much ignored everything so far.

Re: Your drama stories!
I kicked out a bridesmaid
But... the fact that DH's flight was cancelled and LGA closed down the night before our e-party was much more stressful to me. I was afraid he wouldn't make it, in which case I didn't want to go either, but he got the last seat on a connection to TX which was then delayed, and arrived into Newark at 2am. We got back to my parents house at 4am the morning of.

Re: Your drama stories!
I really have NO drama stories to tell thus far (I know - knock on wood). Everything has really gone pretty smoothly. I see where there could have potentially been drama and I'm sooooo glad I haven't had any. For example: I gave my BM's the option to choose their own dress (and told them the color and material). I thought, this could potentially become dramatic. Nope! They all happily decided amongst themselves that they wanted to wear the same dress and they wanted it to be tea length! No problem there! We thought we might have a problem choosing our wedding date - I was going to start an accelerated nursing program in Fall 09 but FH's BIL set their wedding date for August 09. I didn't want to wait until 2010 so we asked them if they minded us getting married 3 months before them in May. They happily said it was no problem at all and they were so excited for us.
I know, I still have about 8 months to go so I shouldn't be so quick to count drama out of our wedding planning.

Thankfully, NO DRAMA! I would never stand for any of that. But also because we are a bit olderthen the rest that i think we avoid alot of that stuff.

Re: Your drama stories!
FH's grandfather (who lives in FL) told us that he had 20 people he wanted to invite. We figured they were all people we were inviting anyway so we told him to send us the list (carefully not agreeing to anything). He sends us the list and it's actually 20 +guest (so 40 total!). He invited everyone he knows!
I had to call him and tell him that he could only invite his brothers and sisters and and not their kids because then we'd have to invite my dad's cousins too and that would put us WAY over our budget and the capacity for our room. He went on and on about how he already called and invited everyone (which he shouldn't have done) and how this was so horrible.
Then he called back the next day and said he was just inviting the first born from each of his brothers and sisters so it was back down to 20, to which I said ABSOLUTELY NOT! I said we're inviting whole families or not at all! So he hung up on me (LOL)! Afterward he called FSIL and said 'Who does that girl think she is?' Umm....I'M THE BRIDE!
To top it all off, when he was asked why he was trying to invite these people to our wedding and didn't invite them to FSIL's when she got married a couple of years ago, he said it was because we make more money so we can afford it. Like that means we want to spend it inviting people we've never met!
At least FH had my back for the whole thing.

Re: Your drama stories!
Well, I had two incidents that were drama worthy. One- my BM was a real PITA about the BM dress I picked. Two- the time where my Sister said she was dropping out of the bridal party because we were in a heated argument.

I thought people would have more drama!
People probably don't want to post because we have lurkers and tattlers. Here's what we should do - FM another random bride with your drama story and ask her to post it here and then no one will know whose post it really is! We'll teach 'em to lurk on our boards!

Re: Your drama stories!
I've actually been pretty luck in the drama dept SO FAR! FH and I were having minor arguments in the beginning because I felt certain people were giving us a hard time about where we chose to have our reception... (some people felt it was too far to travel.. To which I said people know about our wedding a year in advance.. They can make the arrangements for one day or not come at all!) Eventually I decided to ignore people's remarks and things got a lot better!

That is actually a really good idea! I know a lot of people have issues with lurkers on this site.

Re: Your drama stories!
nothing really yet with about 50 days to go....
maybe invites? they were a little stressful at one point b/c everything was going wrong - but tessa was great and in the end everything was good...i didnt really let it get to me - but now we are having RSVP issues my RSVP cut off date is Nov 1 - and im assuming most of the drama will happen in the next two weeks - b/c we already had one guests ask how many people he can bring and now it looks like 1 person (who we thought was a guaranteed no, could potentially turn into a group of 5 )
so yea, this is the part that is going to probably piss me off hahahaha

I had this issue. First I had friends that were asking me to be put in the bridal party before I even had asked anyone. It put so much pressure on me.
Then after I sent out my STD's one friend emailed me saying she received it and was surprised that she was even invited! When I responded and asked her why would she think that she told me that she was offended that she wasn't in my bridal party.
