Your favorite steak house and Italian restaurants...

Looking to spend about $100 as a gift for someone.

Nothing east of Huntington or west of the Nassau border please.

There's a steakhouse called Blackstone in Melville that I hear is very good.

I heard great things about Blackstone. My FH favorite steakhouse is on Bell Blvd in Bayside - Uncle Jack's. Its wonderful.

I love LaParma for italian. Cafe Formaggio on Old Country Road in Carle Place is delicious.

Blackstone is delicious! Also, I haven't been there yet but I hear Prime is excellent as well.

I agree, Formaggio on Old Country Rd is amazing! I highly recommend that place

I will look into Formaggios. The Suffolk and Queens places will not work, but interesting nontheless. Actually, I know of a great place in Queens and the best Italian in the world in Brooklyn, but this is for someone who lives in Nassau and has kids, don't think she and her hubby want to travel. Blackstone having sushi can work, although this same person told me she went to a Baptism at Blackstone and they did a horrible job with their order - completely messed it up and for the price, I want them to be happy. I also hear $100 will get you a glass of water and a appitizer at Blackstone. I want them to have a nice dinner - a bottle of wine would be nice for them too.

Anyone hear of Trattoria Diane in Roslyn? I found it on the Web and it got great reviews.

There is a place in Bellmore that my aunt and uncle love. It is called Piccolo Pasta. You might want to check there. I have been there with them and they are really nice and have great food...definitely a place you could bring a family or just go on a date to. Hope this helps

The idea is that they leave the kids home and go on a romantic date. They did a lot for me with the wedding (the husband as well as the wife), they have 2 little ones and I know a night out with eachother would be great - so no family restaurants.

From what I remember...Piccolo's is very small and a bit romantic. My aunt and uncle go there by themselves all the time. I think if you go later that it is quieter. We went with them around 5 or 6 and there were a few families there, but nothing like a typical family place. Good luck!!! I wish I could help you more, but I am a Suffolk girl...
