Just saw an old thread started by someone who got married in 07 asking people to find their very first post on LIW and re-post it. I thought it was a cool idea .. so I found mine! Post yours!

HI there. I am brand new today, got engaged on St. Patrick's Day in Savannah, Georgia. Although my fiance would like to get married there, I would prefer to do it on LI as all our family is here. I really love the vineyards (Macari and Martha Clara are my faves so far), but I also would love to know about any places on LI that have a pavilion or large covered deck ... I want an indoor-outdoor feel. I would love to have it completely outdoors but am too concerned about rain, wind, etc. Can anyone suggest places that have this kind of a setting that aren't extraordinarily expensive?

So, I just recently read thru the paper that my church (St. Hugh of Lincoln in Huntington) gave me to give to whatever photographer and videographer that I hire... and their list of restrictions is huge! I did speak to one photographer who told me that he has done weddings there and due to the fact that they can't even move around during the ceremony, the pics will not come out well. I want to get married in this church, it's been my church my entire life, but naturally, I also want great pics! Is there any photographers out there who have done weddings at St. Hugh and can guarantee me that the pics will be good? I'm really upset about this. Help! :)

I REMEMBER it but here i copied and pasted it to put here. I messed up my first post. I asked about a photographer and they are blocked so it came out ******* i was like great my first post and what did i do to mess it up lol...i had just went to a bridal showcase at jericho terrace and that was the first time we talked to any vendors at all. We spoke to F I N E A R T which is what the thread is about and sherwood triart and patken. Then i joined onhere and heard about angelica glass so we never met with the others. And awww thanks Mikeandjess, you were the first to help me hahaha

Has anyone used them? Went to a bridal show last week and liked them alot, the guy was great too. Just wanted to get some info from anyone who might have used them. Also looking at Patken and Sherwood Triart. Any info will be helpful, thank you.

'If you're looking for a nice waterview...try the Bridgeview Yacht Club...I had my engagement party there in February of this year and EVERY SINGLE person on both sides of our family STILL complement it. They are actually begging us to have our wedding there! LOL and because of them i'm actually seriously considering it! It was BEAUTIFUL and the food was amazing. They catered to my every need and every worry. The granite bar there is HUGE and it was a really nice place for everyone to get up from the tables and mingle with each other. The prices are high over the phone but when you get there and start the negotations, they really work with you on the price. For my wedding I am also considering Chateau La Mer and the Venetian. I guess I will just compare apples to apples and see what works out to be the best! Luckily I'm getting married in February so I think the prices will be alright. '

My FH and I booked Jericho Terrace. They really gave us so much and came in below our budget. Now we're getting married on 12/27/08 so the price was more flexible...but they seemed willing to work with whatever I wanted.

Have you considered looking at Fox Hollow or Woodbury Country Club. We looked at those at well and had we decided on a Spring wedding we thought those places would've been perfect.

I'm also in Mineola, and we just took out kitty to The Cat Hospital. It's on Hillside Ave in Williston Park. They only see cats, and they were fantastic.

I have been a lurker for about 1 year now..... and now it is finally my turn to post that I'M ENGAGED!!!!!!

Me and my fh have been together for alomst 6 years, and yesterday he took me back to were we met (Hofstra University) and he asked me to be his wife

I am still in shock, but I just could not wait to be able to post on this site. It is so very helpful and I can not wait to be helped and to help others!!!!

Mine was in response to Kimbalina's post about how she got teary eyed when she saw a commercial for her RH...here's the link to it..
