Last time I was the Dr. she noticed my ering and said next time I go in for an appt. to let her know if 'my friend' will be visiting for the wedding and she'll change my pills around. Glad I counted the days now because I'm making sure I change my pills around, don't need to have that annoyance the day of!!! Or night of!!!
This is TMI, but I'm posting this so all of the girls that our on the pill...count ahead and have your Dr. change your cycle if necessary.

Re: 'Your friend' and your wedding.
you dont have to change your pill, all you have to do, instead of taking the sugar pills (the pill that you take right before you get your period) start a new pack of pills, and that will just skip you period and you wont get it until the next month after.....I know a couple of people who did this already and they say that it works well.......

I have done this in the past for a vacation and I spotted for like three weeks, so it was a pain in the butt anyway. The Dr. said she's going to change my pills around so I won't have skip any periods but I just won't get my period for the wedding. Guess everyone's body reacts differently.

Stinks that girls have to deal w/this every month!! My sister just had her first child two months ago and was sooo happy to not have her friend for nine months but then she bled for two months straight after giving birth!!!

You can only do this if the dosage is the same every month. Something like OTC you can't do it with!

OMG I am so glad someone posted this. I have to get put back on the pill b/c of this. I am to the day every month. annoying!! But I am so nervous b/c in the past I was on the pill and gained alot of weight and I tried a few different kinds, I really just want the lowest dose. It's like gain a few pounds or have 'your friend' at the wedding and for your honeymoon

I did this and still got it anyway. Lucky enough I always get mine in the middle of the month so I won't have to worry about the wedding, just the honeymoon!

Smart thinking to look into this early. I don't even want to think about it yet...

Re: 'Your friend' and your wedding.
I got really luck with myself... i'll have it the week before the wedding, and then it'll come back the week after I get back from the honeymoon! I figured I'd have to skip a week or something, but it should work out perfectly!
It is crazy/annoying how we have to think about these things so far in advance... and yet guys still have nothing to think about, oy!

Re: 'Your friend' and your wedding.
lol well my cycle changed a few times in the past few months (early a few times, late a few others) so now I will get mine on the HM! I will probably either get on the pill the month before the wedding (my period would come every 25 days on the pill) so I should get it the week before the wedding.

Hey Girls, Just wanted to give you the heads up. Not all pills are the same - It really depends on your pill - your individual cycles and hormone levels. The pills - particularly Ortho - Tri Lo and Evra are lower in hormones such as estradiol compared to others. therefore if you try to changed your cycle on your own; for instance continuing on a second pacj without taking the placebos (sugar pills) you may actually have more breakthrough bleeding, longer mentsrual periods etc. I would suggest letting your GYN do it for you - They are the best at it and are more familiar - Even I consult my GYN before I do things like that.

When my friend skipped she got REALLY bloated and her clothes barely fit!! That's definitely NOT something I want on my wedding day-- I would rather have Aunt Flo than not be able to fit in my wedding dress or worse yet: fit and feel like a fat cow! LOL it's the worst. I'm going to my doctor around March or April to have her switch my pills around and do whatever she needs to do to make sure Aunt Flo is NOT in town for my wedding
