Your gown vs. BM gowns (repost from BHB)

Are you having your girls get the same style BM gowns as your gown?? For example, if your dress is strapless, are you planning on getting strapless BM dresses?? Or are you also having your girls get the same silhouette as your gown?

Originally I wanted my girls to get the same neckline as my gown; however, I think I may be leaning towards getting different styles. My dress is strapless, so I'm thinking of having my girls get a gown with straps. I feel a little torn on this though because I do like the uniformity when everyone has the same neckline. However, I also like how if the BMs have a different neckline it allows the bride's dress to stand out a little more and be different. One area that will def be the same is my dress is a-line and I def want my girls to have a-line as well.

ITA, I think this is important. Not sure how I'll feel about the silhouettes or straps/strapless compared to mine...but I do think coordinating the fabrics is important...satin BM dresses sometimes look too heavy with lighter-fabric bridal gowns, etc, I think.

Though I've thought about this a lot...and then I realized that I've never seen a bridal party and thought 'oh, those gowns don't go with the bride'...so I decided this nit-picking was just in my head.

I didn't even think of that when I went shopping. I just happened to come across a BM dress I liked, showed the girls, they tried it on and liked it.

Mine was a strapless gown, there's had a strap on one shoulder.

its a tough decision, but ultimately my dress is sweetheart, the girls are doing strapless, but a differentl strapless neck...totally up to everyone individually, but i like the look of everyone being strapless or not being strapless, tough decision!
