Is their a particular friend of FH/DH that you can honestly say is YOUR friend as well, exclusive of your relationship.
I did not think such a thing existed, but my FH has a really good friend whom over the years I have become close with as well. He gave great advice to both us on our relationship during the years and told us BOTH when we were wrong or right. I really appreciate him. He even gave me a gift for my Birthday this year.

Re: Your Guy's friend
No, but I'd say his mother and sister have definitely become my friends over the years....
Edited to say: Oh yeah, forgot: one of his friends' WIVES and I have become very close, to the point of emailing and talking on the phone without the guys knowing about it (not that they would care, it's just that we have our own relationship outside of theirs now).

Re: Your Guy's friend
No, not friend but like Rachel I have to say his Mom has become REALLY close to me - we talk a few times a day and she always (ok 99% of the time) sticks up for me when FH and I fight. Which I can't believe because truly the sun rises and sets on her son!

Re: Your Guy's friend
Without a doubt I have become friends with his mom. I am even comfortable enough to tell her that she should stop coddling FH.

Re: Your Guy's friend
no, can't say we do. I can call on any of his friends to help me out with car troubles if he is out of town etc, but I would not call them my friend. I could not confide in them etc etc.

Re: Your Guy's friend
An ex-boyfriend of mine had a bunch of friends that I wound up getting close with.....Needless to say, he is now AN EX and a distant memory and all of his friends are now some of my very BEST FRIENDS!!!

Re: Your Guy's friend
yes - but we have a lot of mutual friends in common. We met because I was dating Al's friend, and I developed many of my own close relationships with this circle of friends. Some of which withstood the break up with his friend: I lived with Al's best friend for over a year (we shared an apt), and we're both still friends with my ex.

I am lucky in that FH BM is also a good friend to me. We sometimes email each other, and he has always adjucitated in disagreements between us. He is a grat guy, and we have the same birthday

Re: Your Guy's friend
I don't want to cross that line. I tried to be a close friend to one of his buddies and he turned around and told FH what we talked about. It wasn't anything bad. I just know whatever we talk about related to FH and my relationship would never be kept between the two of us.

Re: Your Guy's friend
Yeah, I would say his sister is my friend. She even came to NY and lived with me for a month. She calls and and we hang out, without my FI. Other than that, he has a guy at the firehouse that I became friends with. I talk to him on the phone and we email, I try and give him advice about his love situation, but I wouldn't hang out with him without my FI.

Re: Your Guy's friend
I see your point Wanda, however I do not say anything about FH behind his back that I cannot say to his face.
Having this person as a friend has given me a lot of insight into my FH personality and quirks.
