Does anyone know if there is a proper proportion to this?
I tried on a dress Thursday night and the lady helping me said the chapel train I think was perfect for me b/c i'm not too tall (I'm like 5'3)
I always dreamed of a HUGEEEEEEEEEEE train that would be sprawling all out on the floor that i'd need to bustle or detatch.
and also how does the veil work? How do you pick the length?

Re: your hight versus length of your train....
I'm not sure, I've had people tell me different things. I'm shorter than you (5'0) and one place told me to go with chapel or sweep train with a very short veil, another told me I can go with whatever train lenght I want, just keep the veil short. My only concern is that I don't want the train to make me look even shorter and I don't want the bustle to be too huge behind me. But, I do want a longer train so I think we're in the same boat

exactly -- i've been to 3 places and that is only what one woman said. I'll keep you informed.

I'm about your height and my train is a cathedral train. The only thing is that it is detachable so I will only have it for the ceremony.

I say wear it how you like it but I have heard that you do not want it too short or it will bunch up in front of your face and you won't be able to see, likewise others will not be able to see your face!

Im 5'3' and i have a cathedral train and a extended cathedral length veil. No one should tell you what length you should go with. Its your dress pick the one you want.

Re: your hight versus length of your train....
I am 5 ft 8 and I wish I didn't have to wear a veil at all but I have to for religious purposes. That being said, I am getting a very simple fingertip veil that is going to end up curled in a ball right after the ceremony.
