your invitation wording

your invitation wording

2014 bride has a question!

how was/will your invitations be worded?

--together with our parents?
--mr and mrs 'smith' invite you to the wedding of their daughter?
--mr and mrs 'smith' and mr and mrs 'xyz' invite you to the wedding of their children?

what if brides parents are contributing '10,000k' (made up) and the grooms side is only contributing '5,000' (made up) - does the grooms parents still get 'recognition' on the invitation such as:
--mr and mrs 'smith' and mr and mrs 'xyz' invite you to the wedding of their children..
or
--together with our parents..

thoughts -- I'm curious! thanks!

your invitation wording - Long Island Weddings

My parents are paying the bulk of our wedding but his parents are paying for rehearsal dinner and the limos, as well as, FH and I are putting a large chunk down too. This being said... we put both parents names bc we didn't want anyone to feel left out or make anyone feel less important. They're both contributing however they can, so why shouldn't they be included? I think there's a pic of our invite in my album.

This is what we did. FH's mother is paying for the photographer and our honeymoon and we didn't want her to feel left out. She didn't expect to be put on the invitation up top but she was very honored.

FH and I didnt put our parents on at all. But theres a LOT more then just money behind our reasoning. And plus 99% of the bill is being footed by us anyway.

We did together with Mr and Mrs P and Mr and Mrs T. My parents gave us a lot of money and we covered the rest, FH side haven't given us anything but we didn't want them to feel left out.

My parents paid the bulk, DHs parents paid for the rehearsal dinner.

Our wording was mr & mrs my parents invite you to the wedding of their daughter colleen to alan son of mr and mrs in-laws.

We gave both sets of parents a nod.

I am stressing out about this! My parents are helping and so id FFIL. FMIL & FH's Stepfather are not helping at all. I have no clue what we are going to do.

This is what we did too and FH actually got asked if his parents didn't contribute anything because of the way it was worded. I honestly don't know where that came from, but it proves that everyone perceives things differently! My parents are paying for the majority of the wedding, but regardless, I would have chosen this wording because it's the most traditional.

My husband's father is deceased so we did this:

Mr. & mrs. Bride request the honor of your presence at the marriage of their daughter
Gina
to
Michael
Son of Mrs. Groom
and the late Mr. Groom

We basically paid for everything, and FH father is deceased so we just figured it made things simpler to use 'Together with their parents'
