Re: Your job (NWR)
I rated it a 9 - it would have been a 10, but sometimes the commute can stink!
But------I've also been off for 6 weeks and counting as I wait for my next assignment (I'm a consultant) - still getting paid and not tapping into my annual vacation time - - just FREE time off! Who am I to complain!!!!
Sorry to brag - but 6 weeks off is unbelievable!!!

Re: Your job (NWR)
I have my moments...I HATE my job during tax season...I feel like quitting...bu then the rest of the year its tolerable...don't get me wrong...there are days I come inhere and get tired of seeing the same faces (its a small CPA firm)...but over all the pay is decent, its not that far from home and I get along with everyone...
I know that within in a couple of years I'm going to need a change (This is my fourth year with them)
oops forgot to tellyou what I rated...7-8...like I said I have my moments...

Re: Your job (NWR)
I've def got the 7-year itch thing going! I rated 3-4! I started working here in 98 p/t while I was going to college and then when I graduated in 02 I came on f/t, except this isn't what my degree is in! Now it's 2005 and I'm still stuck here, I gotta get out! One good thing is the commute, I'm only 10 mins away, plus my family has a history of working here and my lil bro still does. But the absolute BEST thing this job ever brought me is that this is where I met my FI!!! I think I'm gonna wait til after the wedding and then really put some effort into finding a new job! I just can't take all the politics anymore, plus I don't really enjoy what I do here!
My job has its days. The perks and benefits are a perfect 10. Even the commute is pretty good.
I just don't think it is the job I always dreamed of...then again I don't think there is any job I really dream of except possibly being on vacation full time

Re: Your job (NWR)
I rated my job a 3-4. I love the work but lately I realize what a sick environment I work in. There is so much crap going on right now that is so upsetting, FI and I have to get out of there soon.

Which side is the better side??? Does 10 mean you hate your job or love it??? I voted 1-2 because I dont hate my job, I love it... but im thinking that I may have gotten it backwards!

How much can one love being a collector? I have no health benefits and they give me a hard time about my schedule. I can't wait until after grad school!!!

I'm in awe that you've stayed where you are 7 years! I'm in Finance, and we don't stick around too long - we go where the money and opportunity is - our generation jumps every two/three years or so! I've worked for three different companies in the past year (I'm staying for a while now) and every job I went to offerred me more $$$ and a promotion.
Now I'm approaching the six figures (not there yet, but very close w/bonuses!) and I'm a VP! Can't ask for anything more!!!!
But, money is not everything - love my job, love who I work with, benefits are fantastic, but my COMMUTE smells like poop! I commute from Brooklyn to Connecticut everyday - 45 minutes by car - not the time, but it's killing my car!
10 - LOVE IT 2 - HATE IT (Commute)

I work in a physical therapy office.
My coworkers are dimwits---I'm not one of the boss' favorites----but I love the patients. It's such rewarding work!

7- mostly b/c of the commute. I work in the city and want a job on Long Island so bad. Anyone have anything? Marketing related?
