Your Married Name Signature

Your Married Name Signature

For the longest time I've been writing in print and script only when I have to sign my name of course. Due to writing in print I forget and sometimes have trouble writing certain letters in script. I hate having to sign people's name at work on things because I can seriously butcher a persons name with my script. I actually practice on scrap paper before I do.

So anyway I practiced signing my married name yesterday and ugh it wasn't that easy/great. My hand is used to my regular signature even though my married name is an easy name to sign. I guess I need to get used to it.

Anyone practice signing their married names and have problems with it?

This is SO funny because I was JUST doing this on Sunday. I said to FH why does your name have to start with a P because I can't find a fancy way to write the P hahaha

I haven't started....fh told me I should but I'm not crazy about giving up my name.

I haven't practiced yet but I've always written in script and I'm going to a MUCH easier name. My current last name is so long that I now do a 'celebrity signature' thing and just scribble it or write the first letter and then a line.

I have this problem because my last name starts with 'con' and my FH last name is 'cox' so after the 'co', my hand naturally goes to do the 'n' and my x always looks a little strange lol

Luckily for me... my married name also starts with a 'G' and I sign my current name with just a big 'K' and then a big 'G' and then some scribble. Soooo really I just have to adjust the scribble lol

I am going to a Mack and I am currently a Mc.. I am having such a hard time remembering the damn Ma, naturally going to write Mc when I am filling things out now!!

I tried it out a few times. FH was looking at my like I was crazy... but imagine you don't practice and then you go to sign that first document and you're like... uhhhh.... lol

I haven't tried it yet, but that's probably because I really don't want to give up my name. I actually spent $30 on one of those 'Miss to Mrs' cards at David's Bridal so that I could change my name online. But I made sure to ask if I could regift it to another bride if I decide not to change my name. LOL

PS - FH's last name starts with a G and that is probably one of my worst letters in script. :)

I've practiced! FH's last name starts with a K which is foreign to my hand. One day I practiced so much that I threw the pen and told him I'm just signing with my maiden name.

Noooo Lol my FHs is a G too and I love that it's what I consider a 'fancy' script letter lol.

I'm also happy to go from a 9 letter last name to a 5! I have a lot of practice though because I sign for FH on just about everything! I joke that the bank probably doesn't even know what his real signature looks like since I do all of the paperwork lol.

I absolutely love writing my name all over everything- it's weird but I could entertain myself for hours doing it if I have to lol. I'm going from an S to an L and I can't figure out a way to make a pretty L. It's such an easy letter but my hand just can't process it!

Ugh, i practiced a few weeks ago and it's IMPOSSIBLE. My new last name has a G and a Z! Who the hell remembers how to write a Z in script?!

i've tried a few times. im going from an R to a W and it's just all wrong. my hand and brain cannot process haha. i sign my full name and credentialing 1000x a day at work so i need to get on board eventually.

I am debating hyphenating my name because I love my last name now. I have practiced writing that and it is a pain because it is so long!

I'm going from G to B. I agree I can make a 'fancy' G, but the B needs major work. I'm also going from a long Italian name to a short Jewish name. This is going to take some getting used to.

I'm so glad I'm not alone!! It's not like I have this amazing signature or amazing last name now, but my new last name will start with a 'T' and I just CAN'T figure out a script T that I like..
And is it also weird that when I say the last name out loud I feel like I'm pronouncing I wrong? Like it just feels weird to say.. FH says its right but it doesn't sound right to me lol. I also always think I saw my first name weird so I guess it's just me since I've been saying my first name my whole life!
