Well this is hard for me because I have my Ex in my phone. But I never hid it from Jim then again I never really “TOLD” him either.
It’s just sorta there. Jim knows about the situation and has no fear of our relationship so I never thought it was a big deal to say “Hey did you know Chad is speed dial #9 on my phone?” Jim knows we (my ex and I) still talk. But it’s not like he’s just ex from last year, he’s like an ex 5 times removed.
*shrug* I dunno. It’s really not that big of a deal for me to have my Ex’s number in my phone, nor have I thought to tell Jim, I just assume he knows. I don’t think Jim would be upset as he knows there’s no chance in hell I’d go back to Chad (who’s in Cali with a fiancé).
Just my two cents. If you’re gonna feel uncomfortable about it, just put it out there. “Hey babe, just noticed XXX in your phone. I was surprised, but I just wanted to let you know so you don’t think I was snooping or anything”. I dunno. Personally, it wouldn’t bother me, but I can see how it COULD bother other people.

I don't think it's fishy. Honestly you can't over think this or your going to drive yourself crazy and start thinking irrationally. I would just ask him if they talk or have talked on the phone. If this were me and I was still in touch with an ex, I don't think I would want him calling my house and having my DH feel weird so the cellphone makes sense. If he were trying to hide something, he probably wouldn't have had the # in his cell or he would have made up a name or something.
If you really are ok with it and possibly answering the phone one day, I would mention to your DH that it is ok for her to call the house.
