I am going to one of my college roomate's wedding this afternoon. There are 12 of us. The wedding is in Jersey at the church at 3 and the reception is at a hotel and the reception starts at 6:30. Some of my roomates went to a salon and got up-dos and bought floor lenght, prom like, dresses. I am broke from my own wedding, not to mention bills. I tried to do my own hair this morning but it looked horrible. Do you think I will be underdressed if I wear a regular 3/4 lenght black dress with NO updo..just my regular hair?? I kind of feel like they are going overboard with the dressing up. Your thoughts??

I think that sounds FINE. Unless it's a black tie wedding, I think your frineds are the ones going too far!

No, its not black tie...but the bride is a DEFINATE bridezilla!!! She even asked us to wear sun dresses to the church and change into our 'evening wear' for the reception. COME ON!!! Well, I hope I am not under dressed.

You are only a guest??? Then no one has the right to tell you what to wear. I think your dress sounds great and I think they might look a little silly like they are trying to be part of the wedding party w/ floor length dresses and up-do's!!

you are completely fine!!!! they are going overboard- no need for fancy updos and floor length prom like gowns when you are a guest at a wedding.. you will look beautiful and classy!

Re: Your thoughts??
I recently started getting my hair done for weddings because I've noticed that a lot of female weddings guests do this.
for my wedding, I could tell that some did, and some didn't.
