Your Wedding Budget?

Your Wedding Budget?

So, Im sure we all tried to figure out that number, the wedding budget!!
What is that number and so far, are you sticking to it? Do you think you will?

I said: $25k
I think at the end it will be closer to $30k.

I am trying on saving with maybe DIY projects. For some reason, DJ's are going to cost me more than I expected. Im looking on ways to make some cuts but, in the right vendor.
And girls, Dont forget tipping is part of your budget. I hate to think about that!

we have no choice but to keep it at 25K. it seems like soo much $$ for one day - but everything is so expensive. as soon as you say the word 'wedding' the price of everything triples.

we're trying to keep it at 25K. I would have really liked to keep it at 20K. but....you all know how that goes.

i keep a tally going - and so far my 'pre-wedding' costs are going well. but then again, i haven't booked anything!

but from the quotes i have gotten, i think we will be NEAR our original budget. but they say that things come up at the end so you have to be prepared. that's why i am seeing thousands of different vendors - cause getting the bests quality and the best price is essential!

i think the honeymoon and our rings are what is going to kill me.

ps - haven't told FH about tipping yet!

$20,000 - we are having a smaller wedding (prob. around 115) and FH's parents have picked up our biggest expense- photography. I'm sure we'll go over, but for right now, it is the number I keep in my head.

We're trying to keep within our budget...at the rate things are going looks like we're going to be going over...its so hard even when you're making alot of DIY projects and skipping on things...its so true - when people hear you say wedding all of the sudden the price doubles...we're still going to try and keep the remainder of what we have to do within budget...I would much rather spend the extra money a place to live than a wedding that is going to be for one day...jmo

FH and I are 'thisclose' to finalizing our plan to get married in Key West.

We're hoping to keep our budget close to $15,000, and that includes accomodations for us, travel, dress, flowers, photo, music, rings, reception, and HOPEFULLY honeymoon too. We can get some cheap rates on cruises...

oh, and if we can do this Florida thing, it'll be either this summer (05!) or next Feb (winter break 06) YAY!!!! I don't really wanna wait til 07...

I say about 30000, Fh wants to spend about 20000. My mom said she'd help out with what she can and his parents offered, but Im gonna plan as if she didnt offer.

im going to shoot myself if we have to spend more than $25k.... it's so hard to save for a house and a wedding at the same time!!

My family is allowing me to spend what my sister spent on her wedding. One problem - she is married for 15 years!!! Can anyone say MEGA MILLIONS!!!

I started thinking $25,000, but just last night we added ALL THE TOTALS UP (since all the vendors are booked) and we are now at $30,000. I figure with tips and the little things that are added here and there it will probably be about $33,000.

ETA: Since my parents are paying for the wedding (thank goodness), this figure does not include the wedding rings and honeymoon which we are paying for.

Re: Your Wedding Budget?

I started to hyperventilate when we were putting together a 'tentative list' as he invited every 'single' person with a date. I told him it was customary to invite people with dates under one of three conditions.

1)The guest and date live together
2)The guest and date are engaged
3)The guest and date have been in a long term relationship.

When money is tight, there needs to be some sort of cutoff. I am not even inviting my single cousins with dates unless they are involved with someone. I told him that my family could only afford a certain amout of people TOTAL. FH's friends and family list is bigger than mine anyway. Anything above the total number my family can afford, his family will have to pay for or cut the list down. The truth is, Id rather have a smaller wedding with everythng I want, than a huge bare bones wedding.

Well, I had originally said $20,000 but it looks likes its going to be close to $30,000. How absolutely ridiculous! I want to throw up when I see the numbers...

I think 20,000 for us....
Might be a little less cause we are not having limos and I will be doing a lot printing myself!!

Re: Your Wedding Budget?

I'm working with $50K and I refuse to pay more. I wanted less, but within an invite list of 280, most of my budget goes right to the hall!
