How do you do that, and when are you suppose to? (I'm really out of the loop!)

I didnt know this either!

I'm sure there's a whole technique involved ... but I've been warming a little baby lotion in my hands & doing some deep rubbing. Chest, arms, thighs ... she really loves it! I think to myself ... If I can give my DH a good massage, then I can give one to the baby, too!

Try it ... its been fun! We talk, we have smiles ... its a good time!

Massaging the baby really doesn't have to follow a particular 'technique' to be a beautiful bonding experience. I have been doing this (as described above) for Paul after his bathtime since he was very little. Even to this day (at 21 mos.), on the nights when he's agitated and in a bad mood, it seems to really calm him down and get him ready for bed. When he was an infant, he would smile and coo at me, but now he giggles his little head off, and then reaches up to throw his arms around Mommy's neck and give me a BIG, giant hug and kiss! THAT is the best reward I could ask for!
