YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!!! UPDATE ON NEW VENUE!!!

4 months......yup, that's right.......4 MONTHS until our wedding and our reception hall calls and cancels on us becuase they HAVE to hold a horse race that day!!!!!

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our reception was being held at one of the main horse park Clubhouses. It was beautiful!!!! Obviously we LOVED it enough to book after looking for 5 months and getting screwed around by another place.

So I'm at work today and the Banquet Manager phones me and tells me they have to cancel our contract for the Clubhouse because the owners want to hold a race that day!!!!! Apparently they can do whatever they want since it's thier place and if they want it for another event, then they can!!!! Oh but it gets better........they are offering to let us have the reception in one of the nice BARNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My FH has no clue yet! He's at the gym right now, but let me tell you.....he won't be a happy camper!!!!! I am soooooooo beyond pissed right now!!!!!!

They said they were going to phone me on Friday to find out if we want to have barn or not.......hmmmmmm, let me think for a second about this..........ummmmmmmmm F - YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't belive this!!!! Before we booked this place, we phoned EVERY hotel and they are all booked!!!! I am so devastated right now!!!!!!!!

UPDATE!!!!!!!!


Ok, so my FH and I veiwed another location today and we LOVE it. And you know what?????? It's WAY better than that DAM horsepark venue!!!!! It's such a beautiful ballroom with a seperate cocktail room which overlooks a water fall in a park in the center of downtown! We are SOOOOOO in love with it!!!!

We have a meeting with the Venue tomorrow afternoon to book the room. It's more money than the first venue, BUT it's worth it. We told the other venue that we are taking the menu AND price that they quoted us to the new venue to see what they will charge for the EXACT thing.

The old venue KNOWS we will be expecting them to cover the difference. We spoke with them yesturday for about an hour. They called around to other venues to see if our date was open too and they couldn't find anything that was comparable for the price they had. So they KNOW they are screwed with this one. IF they cause us ANY problem at all, then FH and will foot the bill for now and once our wedding is over, we'll take them to court for the damages they had caused us.

Although it ***** that we had to go through this, we are so happy this happened to us!!!! We truly are! The new place is so much nicer and more convenient for our guests becuase it's downtown!!!! YAY!!!!! I'm posting some pictures of what the room and cocktail area looks like!!!
