I usually have a drink once a blue moon. Due to stress at work, I've had more than my regular share lately (ask diluvchu & laurenluvstj) b/c of my giggle fits, but I don't really drink and neither does FH. You're not alone on this!!!

i am not much of a drinker either.

i dont drink... it gives me migraines and to me, it just isnt worth it... once in a blue blue moon i'll have a glass of wine,but that's it...

i went to a restaurant once and a waiter started giving me a hard time because i didnt want to order a drink... i almost clawed his eyes out! No one better attempt me to do something i dont want to do!

I don't drink because my Dad is an alcoholic - I think most of my friends would agree I'm fun without it


There's lots of reasons not to drink, but the one I usually go with:
Too many empty calories, my dress is TIGHT!!

There's lots of reasons not to drink, but the one I usually go with:

i had a blast with 'diet coke and a lemon please'...of course, i had 2 apple martinis....haha...but she was still a blast...guess the caffeine makes her loopy.

neither me or my FH drink, nor do most of our friends. Unfortunetly my parents are being insistant that that we do have alcohol at the wedding, when FH and I really wanted to have a non-alcoholic reception.

I could do a WHOLE thread on that!!!! FH and I had the same 'argument' with HIS mother....

i don't drink...neither does my FH...maaaaaaaaybe we'll have alcohol (like mike's hard lemonade) at social events but usually we just stick with soda and water and stuff like that...your girls shouldn't be putting pressure on you to drink...you don't have to get drunk or drink a drop of alcohol to have a great time..tell them to get over it..no worries us brides are here for yah!

I totally understand. I really only drink wine, my friends think I should be wild and crazy at my bachelorette party. But, I just want to go to the Awesome 80's prom and dinner!

they are trying to pressure me into going to a strip club. I think they are just being selfish and not really listening to what you want. That's how I feel about my friends sometimes too.

I have a weird one for ya. I don't like the taste of alcohol at all. I can drink sour mix drinks like amaretto sour, but my friends are all talking about how I better get over this because I must get wasted at my bachelorette party. I'm a freaking guidance counselor who teaches kids to not succumb to peer pressure, yet I am afraid to tell my friends no (and I'm 27). I wonder if there is anyone else who feels this way... or maybe the cheese stands alone.

i was in the same boat for my bacherlorette party. i simply dont liek the taste of alcohol and i dont see the point in getting drunk. so we had a psychic party at my sisters and did kareoke in their garage (they are a musical family, and have a stage with mics and instruments). i drank a few mikes hard drinks, and i did get a little loopy, but a good time was had by all! i am starting a grad program in school counseling this fall (in NC where i will be able to find a job after graduation). anyways, there are lots of alternatives to drinkfests for bacherlorette parties. maybe do a spa day?

Like you, I don't like the taste of alcohol. So I drink Malibu Rum and Pineapple juice. The rum doesn't have that strong taste and adds a coconut flavor to the pineapple juice. And I can drink a bunch of them and not feel a thing.

My best friend was all about 'SHOTS!' 'SHOTS!' at my pseudo-bachelorette party but I used my DH as an excuse. His bachelor party was the same night and I said I couldn't drink that much because I was driving him home.
