Zippity Doo's *Cuts for kids*

Zippity Doo's *Cuts for kids*

Just wanted to give you ladies a bit of a review.

I took Patrick to the one in Merrick today. (They have 2 others. One in Roslyn Heights & the other is in Huntington) I will admit that this was Patricks best hair cut experience. He even let the guy use the buzzer. He looks SO great. They had the cool cars & they had a bunch of videos so the kids can pick out what they like to watch.
I did have a problem though w/ the price. It cost $ 22.00! I almost passed out!!
And they sold toys in this one as well. What are they trying to do to the parents!!!

My own personal problem is the woman in charge kept calling my son Pat. Though I told her that his name is Patrick. It's my own pet peeve. It just drove me nuts.

$22 - OMG!!!!! Will you go back or is that price enough to keep you away? I would be annoyed if someone did that with my child too - although with Luke, you cant really shorten it, but still...I hate when people do that - with adults or kids.

I don't know if I'd would take him there again. John almost had a heartattck when I told him. But he agreed the cut is the best he has ever had. I didn't have to come home & get my scissors out to 'fix' what they couldn't cut.
Though the guy did give me the best advise. He told me to stand away from Patrick. So he can't reach for me. Then he just sat there no complaints. So maybe I'll do the same somewhere else.

Why is it that I don't think that $22 is alot? When you go to Zippity Doo's you are going to the Disneyland of haircutting shops, obviously you are going to pay for it. You get a good cut and the child is entertained.

If you don't cut it yourself, where else would you go? The barber? I hear thats at least 10 bucks anyway and not without screaming and squirming.

We took Maiah for her very first haircut at ZippityDoo's in Merrick. The guy did such a FANTASTIC job!! She was screaming and flailing around and he just went on cutting her hair flawlessly. We will definitely bring her back there when we visit LI again!!

The most I spent prior to this was $12.00.

I will NEVER take Patrick to the local barber again. He cried & was moving around (typical child behavior) & the barber got aggrivated. There was NO ONE in there. So, it's not like he had something better to do!

I know myself & I'm sure when he needs a cut again I'll be back to Zippity Doo's. Patrick liked it there.

I think its alot but if you have had minimal success (with not so gret results) elsewhere - it's worth it I guess. It depends on how often you get it done too and their hair. Lukie has curly hair and it grows up and out when it gets too long so I need to do it often. Plus with curly hair, you dont notice if the cut is a little off like you would with straighter hair. I brought him once but I usually do it myself with some help from DH to keep him entertained.

If he was happy while getting it done, go for it. Mommies have enough battles with toddlers without having to add another one when it comes to haircuts.

We took Paul to Zippity Doo's in Huntington for his first haircut. I'll never pay $22 again for a haircut, tho. We just took him to the local barber last week and that is where Paul received his best haircut ever. But then again, Paul does not move a muscle during his haircuts, so it's a much different experience for me.

I like the woman in the Merrick store far better than the man. She used to give my daughter the best haircuts. IF you stand there long enough, you can watch her and the male barber fight like cats and dogs too
