About Me: My name is Elisabeth and I can’t believe it, but I have been married a little over 3 months and it is fabulous! As much as I enjoyed wedding planning, I have really enjoyed how relaxed we are now that the wedding isn’t looming closer and closer. As most of you know, I live in Portland, Oregon and stumbled on this site when I was searching for wedding stuff online. So I’m not an LI-er but you have all loved me like I am one of your own

Our Wedding: We got married in Portland at Christ Church Episcopal and it was beautiful! I had 11 bridesmaids and 10 groomsmen and 1 ring bearer. My brother, Barrett, who has Down’s Syndrome was our ring bearer and he was so precious. We had our reception at Cummin’s Hall and it was so much fun! We had about 250 people there for dinner and dancing. The wedding ceremony (full mass) was long but it seemed to go very slowly. The reception, on the other hand, seemed to go by so fast! We did all the traditional things: garter toss, cake cutting and bo-q toss. Also, we didn’t see each other until I walked down the aisle. We did pictures afterwards and it took just about an hour. I highly recommend that because the feeling I got when I walked down the aisle and saw him for the first time was a feeling I don’t think I will ever have again and I loved it.

My Review: Obviously, my florist is going to be of little help to most of you, so I am doing my review in pictures! I hope you love them as much as I do

Our day started with the guys going to get old fashioned shaves at a barbershop. The girls all met at the salon to get hair and makeup done.

These are all the little things I added to my wedding thanks to LIW -- I don't think I would have even thought to have bubbles or a card box at my wedding if it weren't for LIW!! Thank god you guys saved me!

This is Cummins Hall where we had our wedding reception. Our colors were cranberry, gold and black We did a buffet dinner and an open bar. We also had a champagne bar with different fruits and juices to add to the champagne. It was a big hit!

These are my flowers... they were all a mix of red roses and red rhinoculous along with hypericum berries. Perfect for a winter wedding!

Our cake We had every layer different:

1. lemon poppyseed with marionberry cream cheese filling
2. a dark and milk chocolate layer cake with dark chocolate filling
3. yellow cake with fudge filling
4. white cake with strawberries and cream filling

The whole thing was delicious!!

The only thing I would recommend is CUT A LARGE PIECE!! The thinner the slice, the more difficult it is to get out!

We had a sparkler farewell (another great idea from LIW!) This was by far my most favorite part because we slowly walked out and got to say goodbye to everyone and then we did a big dipping kiss and then walked up the stairs and into the limo. It was just the perfect ending to a perfect day!
