Anne-Marie’s Wedding Review

Macy’s Manhasset Bridal Salon:

Bride’s Dress, by Demetrios: A
Headpiece, Veil
Overall I was very satisfied with Macy’s Manhasset Salon. I looved my dress! Betty is the sales woman who assisted me. I found her very knowledgeable, and liked her a lot. There were no problems with my dress. It was ordered Hollow to hem, it came in and fit like a glove. I needed no alterations. I only needed my long line bra sewn in to prevent the dress from slipping and giving me underarm cleavage
The only problem we ran into was they forgot to order my veil. It was the miscommunication between 2 workers there. However, they got me the veil within 5 days and I picked it up with my gown.

Bridesmaids: A-
Bridesmaids Dresses came in a timely manor. However a couple of girls said when they went to pick it up it had a little stain or something on the top. It was taken care of.



Town & Country Tuxedo’s: B-
I heard nothing but great things about them. So we went to their location in Wantagh. I found the salesperson to be helpful to DH and I. He choose a very nice Ralph Lauren Tux. However, DH was not able to wear the shoes from there. He put them on and Thankfully before he left he noticed the soles came off the shoe. The same thing happened to the Ring Bearer. DH had to wear his own dress shoes. Like I said thankfully it happened before he left for the church! Besides that, the Tux’s looked beautiful.


Sandy’s Shoes: A+
Located in Massapequa on Sunrise. They are just awesome there. My family and I have been using them for years. My shoes were sooo darn comfy I didn’t even have to change into the little white flats I bought. She let me take 2 pairs with me to try on with my dress, letting me return one of the pairs. Thank god because I’m so indecisive! They really helped my mother in law out too. She bought her shoes somewhere else to be dyed.. and they came out the wrong color 2 days before the wedding! And they couldn’t fix them for her in time.. and the guy told her he would have to do a new pair. So she took them to Sandy’s and she had them the next day! Highly Recommended!


HAIR: Aura Salon & Spa: A+
They are located in Bellmore on Merrick Rd. I use Larry there for my haircuts all the time. They took care of pretty much my whole bridal party. Maria did my hair and my sisters hair for the Wedding. Maria has done my hair before, she is just so artistic and talented. I LOVED the way my hair came out. I bought extensions, and was nervous they wouldn’t blend due to the undertones of my hair. So they matched up some vegetable dye and gave my hair a coat 2 weeks prior to the wedding. Maria worked so well with extensions you would never know they were in there! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AURA!!!

My sister’s Hair



Makeup by Artemis: A+
I found Artemis on a website, and saw she had worked with my cousin who is a model. So I knew she must be good! And I am picky to begin with since I did makeup for 7 years. I had a trial with her and loved it. We still switched it up a bit the day of the wedding and she did a truly wonderful job. Not only did she do me, but my mom, my sister, and sister in-law. They all looked beautiful and glowed !


Westbury Manor: A+++++
Where do I begin with them? I fell in love with the grounds there, and I always hoped and prayed for an outdoor cocktail hour, but knew the chances were slim with a wedding in April. Well since we lucked out with 80 degree and sunny weather..the cocktail hour was outside, and so was the Viennese hour.

But first let me start with Susan, who was my BM. She was great to work with and always reassured me with anything that I was worried about. And she was right I had nothing to worry about!

Ian was my Maitre D. I thought he did an exceptional job. He always came up to me to see if everything was ok, and if I needed anything. If I told him to tell the photographer to grab pics of the place cards and centerpieces, she was there within minutes taking pictures. I saw him going to each table during the night to see if they were ok, and if they needed anything. He brought me into the room before they let guests in, and all my requests were filled, all the items I dropped off to them during the week were properly displayed, which I was worried about. The room was exquisite. Ian was told that I love candles, and for the Viennese Hour, he took DH and I outside to see before guests came out. Only one way to describe it : it was like a fairytale.. He had candles put on the stairs lining the pathway down to the patio. Candles on the tables, along the brick walls, around the food. I couldn’t believe it.. DH and I thought we were in Epcot Center with everything twinkling like the night sky!

Ines was my Bridal Attendant. She was exceptional as well. What a sweetheart! She helped me with everything. Carrying my train, fixing my veil, holding my flowers, helped me go to the bathroom. I always had a new drink in my hand, always made sure I ate. She brought us around the Viennese and let us pick out what we wanted. I wanted to bring her home with me!


The Food: A++++++
The moment we got there they had the Bridal party in a garden set up with a table of cheeses, bread, hor’deurves (sp?), drinks, fried calamari, pasta.. It was delicious.
The Cocktail Hour was set up outside. It was just beautiful and there was food all around. We also had a Martini bar with ice slide which I loved and so did the guests! I highly recommend that piece!
They brought us into the Bridal suite and Ines my BA had 2 plates full of food for DH and I to eat.
The dinner menu was wonderful. Every guest had an anti pasta on their plate, followed by salad, penne ala vodka (which was DELISH!!!), Intermezzo, then a choice of 7 entrees, DH and I both had the Filet Mignon…again DELISH! I wish I was more hungry! They made the cake and did a beautiful job. We choose Chocolate Devils food cake with fresh raspberries, and white chocolate mouse filling.
The Viennese Hour was filled with endless sweets.. I almost didn’t have it. I honestly didn’t want it, but my mother insisted.. Well I’m happy she did! I think it was almost my favorite part!

Flower Michele: A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I HEART THEM!!!! OMG, WOW isn’t even enough to describe John and his work. He was the nicest vendor to work with. So pleasant and got so excited and involved in helping me select the flowers.
The bridesmaids carried pink peonies, with green cymbidium orchids. My BoK was white peonies, white orchids with pink centers, and stephanotis. LOVED all the BoK ‘s! The GM wore Cymbidium orchids, and DH had a 2 white orchids to match my BoK. I made petal cones, and all of them were filled and in my basket provided at the church. We had 2 beautiful altar arrangments, along with bows, and chiffon draping down the aisle. The place card table was 4 boxes of wheat grass, along with a beautiful arrangement of Orchids in the center. I worked really hard on the flower place cards and was thrilled with the outcome! My CP’s.. when I first walked in the room empty with everything set up my jaw dropped. I was in AW!! John exceeded my expectations. The Cherry Blossoms were in full bloom (it was National Cherry Blossom week!) There were candles hanging from the branches, and a bunch of candles at the base. The room GLOWED.. It was everything I wanted and more. I would just stop sometimes just to soak it all in again. Ok.. So obviously I HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND FLOWER MICHELE!!!





Michele Clark Calligraphy A+
She did the calligraphy for my flower place cards. She was awesome!! I sent them to her and had them back in my hands within 3 days. Not one mistake. I got such compliments on them!


RJ’s Exotic Limo’s: A+
They are in Wantagh on Sunrise Highway. I called EVERY limo place, and they always beat the price! I ordered 2 Chrystler 300’s, and a Rolls. He called a few days before and gave me the option of a upgrade. Which I took, and I’m glad I did. We got 2 brand new 2007 Escalade’s! Cars=Mint Cond. Drivers=excellent service, and soooo nice! We were picked up on time at the end of the night and were brought to our hotel. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!

Modern Wedding Photography: A+
DH and I really shopped around for a photographer. We went to about 8 places. I think Denise was the last person we went to. We knew what we were looking for, clean crisp photos that are photojournalistic but not overly dramatic. We saw too many photographers work where it looks like everyone was sad! Denise’s work portrayed happy times, like everyone was having a blast, and the pictures tell a story. She worked with our budget and what we wanted. What I particularly liked was how fast her turn around time was. She told me I would have my proofs within 1-2 weeks, and a rough draft of my album. After we edit and OK it, it will be printed and have everything 2 weeks after. The day of everything went pretty smoothly. It was a little hard as far as lighting situation goes, it was very sunny and being in the gardens the trees created a lot of harsh shadows. So the assistant had to set up diffusers(large silk screens) to make the lighting even. We didn’t get to take a large family portrait (aunts, uncles, cousins), but we got to do individual pics throughout the night. We probably could have done it, I just didn’t want to miss any more of the CH.
Well, a week after my wedding she sent me the link to the rough draft of my album! I couldn’t believe it. I am thrilled with all the results. www.modwedphoto.com/annemariejoseph



Golden Moments Video: A+
I met with Pat, and viewed a bunch of their worked. I absolutely loved it. He was such a doll to work with. Not one bad thing to say. I haven’t received my video yet, but that is because I haven’t gotten to him yet with the baby pictures and honeymoon pics yet! I didn’t even notice Pat and his assistant around the day of. He was there the whole time capturing all the little moments but was so discrete. I highly recommend Pat at Golden Moments. I will update this review when I get my video

Undergarments: Sweet Lace Lingerie A++
Of course I give my store a A+ I used a LeMystere Long Line Bra, with a pair of Mary Green silk panties that said 'I DO'!

I plan on using Pat from Golden Moments. How did your video come out? Also, I plan on going to Greece for my Honeymoon. Any advice?
