Well I have to say I was VERY HAPPY with everything from my wedding so my reviews won't have any complaints, which I guess is a great thing!Atlantica - AMAZING - I loved this place!!! Seriously, the location and the food and the view are really what made my wedding so incredibly awesome. I worked with Lisa at the Atlantica and she was amazing to work with. She really made the whole wedding planning process stress free and fun. She tells you how you can save money and she is just really a wonderful person. For a Hamptons wedding, this place is very affordable! I had contacted some other places and they were charging twice as much.
I had both my ceremony and reception at the Atlantica. We had a perfectly sunny day and you could see the ocean during the ceremony and it was just beautiful. The ceremony takes place under a tent outside (but attached to the reception hall) and it is just amazingly beautiful there. Then they seamlessly transition the area from ceremony to cocktail hour, I have no idea how it happened so fast but I didn't even notice it was it was happening.
When you book with the Atlantica, they provide everything you need - chairs, tables, linens, cake (which is amazing because those can be so expensive!), bridal attendant, maitre d, etc... It makes life so much easier to have that all set for you. I chose to rent chairs and napkins to add some color but really the place is perfect on its own. But it was awesome to have everything taken care of for me because wedding planning is not easy.
So now for the food! It was delicious. And you get TWO tastings which is amazing because some places won't even give you one. There is one big group tasting for hors deouvres and cake and stations where you can meet all the other brides and grooms. Then you get your own personal tasting for appetizers and entrees. Also they are very flexible with the entrees, you can switch sauces, sides, etc. And it was so good! People told me after that it was the best wedding food they had had.
The maitre d, Jeff by the way, I cannot say how amazing he is. He was always there with a drink in hand for us and so attentive to our needs. We had an after-party at Solly's pub in front of the place and it was so cute there. We had drinks and mini snacks and it was the perfect way to end the most amazing night of my life.
Hmm what else I can say about this place. It was just a classy, beautiful place for a wedding. The food was amazing. The people were a real treat to work with. I absolutely loved my wedding!
Exquisite Affairs Productions - LIFESAVERS - I cannot recommend this vendor highly enough! Not only are they extremely affordable, they are fun to work with! I worked with Christine for Day of Coordination and Laurie for all my wedding stationary (invites, escort cards, table numbers, misc).
Christine is a lifesaver. The best part of working with her (besides the fact that she is awesome and now I consider her a good friend) is that she answers any and all questions you may have from day one of booking with her. I emailed her at 7am about a silly issue I was worried about and she would respond within hours. I honestly can't imagine what I would have done if I didn't work with Christine. She made certain that nothing bothered me on my wedding day and that everything went as planned so that I could enjoy the day to the fullest. She even told me that I could direct all friends and family to her for any questions, months before the wedding!
I did most of the wedding planning myself, but Christine works with some awesome vendors. She helped me with wedding transportation (limos and buses for the guests) and it all went off without a hitch. Also, many of the vendors I had already booked had worked with her and loved her as well.
When I was looking to work on my invitations Christine introduced me to Laurie who works with her as a graphic designer. Laurie was awesome to work with, helped me find ways to save money, and designed the most beautiful invitations I have ever seen in my life. Of course I am biased since they were mine, but everyone I sent them to loved them. She really worked with me to understand what I wanted and customized the invitations accordingly. She created an invite, a weekend guide with a map, and the cutest rsvp postcards ever for a fraction of what it would have cost to buy elsewhere. And she is so responsive! I was honestly sad when I was done working on all the wedding stationary because I wanted to work with her more. You should check out the blog to see her work, my invites are up there!!!
Karen Lenahan - BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS - Karen is so much fun to work with! She is friendly and cheerful and designs beautiful arrangements. She is based in the Hamptons but would meet me in the flower district in NY where I could check out the actual flowers and we would play with arrangement ideas. She really did a beautiful job!
Sound Image - ROCKING - All Faze 4 bands that I have seen are amazing. We used Sound Image, one of the smaller, and more affordable bands from Faze 4, and they were awesome. Everyone was telling us how awesome they thought they were as well.
They were able to learn all of our songs (we gave them 3 or so I think) within a month of the wedding and they played them beautifully. We really stressed that we wanted new, top 40s music and they delivered it beautifully. They were able to sing Lady Gaga, Rihanna, etc. People were dancing the whole night! And that is just what I wanted. They sound like the real thing. There is a guy who can ling Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson and one who can sing like Journey and the female singer just sounds wonderful.
In addition, they were very flexible. Both my husband's father and my father decided to perform songs at the last minute and the band learned the songs for them!
Rabbi Renee Feller - AWESOME - She is the best! She worked with us to create a very personalized, beautiful interfaith ceremony. She recommended father Neil O'Connell who was also amazing to work with. They were also able to perform the ceremony on a Saturday before sundown.
The two of them were so much fun to work with and even made some jokes during the ceremony that got everyone laughing and eased any tension. People came up to us and really loved how we combined the Jewish and Catholic traditions. This is a perfect team for an inter-faith ceremony.
Camelot Limos and Hampton Jitney provided transportation and they were on time and reliable and just a pleasure to work with.
Kimara Ahnert - AN ARTIST - seriously the best makeup job ever, and not just for me for all my friends. I wish she would do my makeup everyday.
Photography and Videography - I don't have my pictures or video back yet but I have to say I loved working with Belathee photographers and RockMelon video. We got our engagement photos from Belathee as well and they were terrific. I also like that Dorothee and Annabel are just fun, cool, laid back people and I love their previous work. Rob from RockMelon was there with me all of the wedding day and he was hilarious and I just enjoyed having him around.
Hampton Clambake - DELICIOUS LUNCH - we hired them for the day after lunch and the food was delicious and such a huge amount of it! I want to have a clambake every summer.
