Was that a standard cake from TC or was it an upgrade?

Shellee - thanx for sharing your pics ! They came very beautiful, I just love them. You were such a gorgeous bride and the day seemed lovely, overall

The must also comment that your cake WAS so amazing also! Very pretty!

Thanks so much. My cake was a standard cake from TC, but Pedestals put the flowers on. I worked with Marcella there (but she generally only works out of the White Plains location, not the Mineola location).

we have a couple of vedors in common:

I got married at the Thatched Cottage 10/12/03 and it was wonderful. There is not one complaint & I am very picky. There wasn't another party going on so maybe that would've been an issue. The cake was exactly how I wanted it and the alcohol was top shelf...

Iman- my dress was absolutely gorgeous, but the atmpsphere and attitude there was horrible. Phone calls weren't returned and i was told a different story about the ETA of my dress. I had to go in there and complain and still wasn't gettng answers I deserved. That was the most stressful part of my wedding planning.

Bridal Reflections - They did a great job. Some of the girls that work there are snotty but most were ok.

Bonadventure in garden city- i got my headpiece and veil there. gorgeous and the people there are so nice and helpful. I sorta wish i got my dress there.

Thats my take on these vendors....

I am also a Thatched Bride to be, so I will take up some of these concearns with them asap! Please, do post the names of the people you worked with at TC as I will be dealing with them SOON!

Honestly, I attended a wedding there in the autumn of last year, and it went very welll...so i do hope that it is not a trend for them to be sneeky!

I actually don't think it would be appropriate for me to post the names of the people I worked with. Everyone at the TC writes the 'Only Wedding' statement on the contracts as far as I know. Nobody elaborated that that meant there could be another party. The whole thing may seem very different from the eye of a guest, which is good to know.

As long as you ask all questions you are concerned about and get it in writing u will be fine..... i did that and it was a dream come true. Everyone ranted and raved about the thateched cottage.

if u are concerned about another function make them write that it will not interfere w. your wedding or whatever your concern is. i got married oct 12 2003 there which is a very popular event dat b/c of the 3 day coloumbus weekend and there wasn't another function.....

anyway I am so picky and can not complain at all about the thatched cottage........ ONE BIT... noe did my finicky mother-in-law.... she actually apologived to me my wedding nite for ever doubting my planning.... anyway.. i'll be happy to give u names or references...... for the thatched cottage.... what would u like to know...... ?????

that's true.. they did say the only wedding. BUT.. I have worked in a catering hall before so I can't really complain. The decor is much nicer then some places. Sometimes they have to book more then one party.. because yes they care about the customers.. but some owners are just greedy. I hope your wedding went beautifully anyways. I'm having my wedding in August there, so thank you so much for the review. I'll be sure to ask if they have top shelf liquors before hand.!!!
