A clarification of my policies (for anyone interested)
(to address a complaint from an unknown customer on the other board)
I ALWAYS say to expect an average of 1000 proofs (it's in ALL my literature AND in the contract.) I ALWAYS say to expect at least 1200 when myself or one of my top candid photographers are on the job.
I have a policy of ALWAYS having a cap of no charge over 1250 pictures no matter how many we take (I don't recall EVER charging for 1500 pictures.)
I have a policy that anyone who is disappointed by the number of proofs and thinks that there are hundreds of wasted pictures will receive a credit for that amount towards their albums. Out of 150 weddings last year, I received that complaint twice.
I'm ALWAYS tweaking the albums beyond what people pay for. If you can only afford a number of pages that doesn't represent the full potential of the pictures available, then I will cover the cost of a number of pages to make it the most powerful we can.
I ALWAYS work as hard as I can to please my customers and address any complaints. I NEVER want someone walking out upset about any aspect of our work. I'm quite proud of our 0 complaint record with the BBB (in an industry which is the highest for complaints.)
If anyone knows of anyone who is upset with any aspect of our work, please ask them to contact me so I can attempt to rectify the situation.
Thank you

Mark- to tell everyone out there. You have always been honest with me about proofs, number of proofs and costs. It is clearly written in my contract. Just in case anyone does not believe your above post.

I have worked many weddings with Mark as well as provided music for functions at which he was the photographer. My clients had only positive comments on Mark's work and professionalism. I am giving my support to Mark's above comments.

Just to add my two cents. Although I did not use Mark for my wedding I have always found him to be upfront about his policies and everything that he does. His posts are helpful and informative and should be commended for caring enough to spend his time here helping out Long Island brides. Keep up the great work Mark. There are many brides who really appreciate your input.

Mark, I didn't book you for my wedding because at the time I didn't know of this board or did I hear of you. I just wanted to say from what I have read, I am sure you do beautiful work and I think the post that was made on you was very uncalled for and I hope girls looking to book a photogrpaher in the future don't believe the crap that was written because I have read you are outstanding!

Thank you for the support
Thank you so much! That support means a lot. (hurtful remarks really do hurt, especially when my whole impetus is to do the best job I can, be fair to everyone, and to approach my work with a generous spirit.) Oh well! Can't please everyone!
Thanks again for the positive feedback and support.

The post will be buried soon but please read 'Sad Truth' on the Brides side. Essentially, LIWedding found out that barago was not entirely legit.

Re: Thank you for the support
Those posts were very sad, and I support Mark too. In my experience Mark has made every policy very clear from the start and has been flexible with my needs and and my budget. I have no complaints!

I have noticed that you are very active on the vendor board, and help brides with questions regarding all different types of wedding questions, not just photography. To me that shows you are a good businessperson. I would not worry about the comments made on the other board by that person, I do not believe anyone would take anything seriously from someone who was insulting and belittling other people for speaking their minds. Continued success with your business...

To speak so unkind and hurtful about any vendor, regardless of what they did is uncalled for.
Whatever opionions or mishaps one has had, they should tell other brides via private email.
There is 2 sides to every story and one should get all the facts first! Vendors are not just bussiness men & women. We also have families, friends and our careers.
I tip my hat to you, Mark for replying and clarifing your policy!
Good Luck to all of the future brides and much good will and success to all my fellow vendors!
