Advice on Negotiating with Wedding Venue

Not sure if this is the place to post but Im looking for some advice. My fiance and I have fallen in love with one venue, unfortunately they have quoted us about $20 a head more than any other venue we've seen that are offering comparable services. When I looked online for average prices of this place, the quote they gave us is also significantly higher than what most people had said they were quoted at and they were looking during peak wedding season while we are not. We visited their sister venue (same caterers) and even they quoted us about $15 a head less. Has anyone had experience/can give advice on how to negotiate the price per head at a venue. Do I bring documentation of the other quotes? Any help would be appreciated :)

While it may seem to be the same thing, you may be looking at apples and oranges without knowing it. You can always give them the bottom line on what you are willing to pay, then ask HOW they can make it happen. Every time the price goes up or down it is because the couple has added or given up something.

Are you ok planning on short notice?

Are you set on a Saturday night or would you consider a different day?

Do you need to offer top shelf?

When you are planning a wedding it is easy to think that everyone you meet is looking at you with dollar signs in their eyes. But in truth the vast majority of vendors are here because we Love making people happy.

Depending on what is important to you, they may be able to make it work!
