Beach Ceremony Locations

on Long Island. We want to have a very small, initmate ceremony on the beach. Any suggestions?? No reception

Here are some things to think about...

Nassau or Suffolk?

How many people were you inviting?
If there's going to be older folks coming make sure that the location is accessible to them.

Is it the kind of thing where you want chairs and an aisle or just a handful of people gathered around?

Are you thinking in season or off?
Mid week or on a weekend?
If you were thinking a weekend in the summer looking for somewhere that won't be cluttered with a sea of people is going to be important.

North Shore or South Shore?
If you want that real Ocean feel South it is!

Something like the Fire Island Lighthouse, while it's not sand between your toes, is a good option because if it rains there is an inside.

There are lots of little places that do Lobster nights - Sunken Meadow Pavilion & The Beach Hutt come to mind - You could just go down to the water do a quick ceremony then order food.

The little beach at Captree has a nice view of the bridge that looks great in pictures. My last wedding there they had champagne, fruit & cheese set up on the picnic table for after.

Invoking Murphy's Law to your benefit means that if you have a rain plan it will be a beautiful day. Argyle gazebo in Babylon, the little gazebo at the far end of Wantagh Park, or one of the structures by the dock in Northport Village are all good options.
