hello, i am getting married july 4th 2006. I do attend a church but was told they don't do weddings on the holiday weekend. Please help me find a place to have my ceromony in the Suffolk County area. If this is a hall reading this also i will be glad to see if you can help me just for a ceromony.

Re: calling all reception halls and churches
Hello and Congratulations!
In answer to your question there is a tiny, old, cute 'little house on the prairie' style church at The Grange in Sayville. This is a Suffolk County property so they would be the ones to call for more information.
The Historical Chapel which is just over the Nassau line in Woodbury is a little larger and is beautiful. I'm there all the time and it is a great location. They are here on LIW if you wish to contact them.
Last is the largest. It is on the grounds of St. Johnland Nursing Home in Kings Park. The altar space is huge as is the seating which is usually filled with folding chairs.
Not a traditional church but you may also want to check into the Unitarian Fellowships. There are ones in Huntington, Stony Brook, and I think there may be a couple more.
With that said I think home weddings are great. They leave the memory in your house rather than letting it linger in a rented place. But that's just me.
Good luck in your search and many healthy happy years to you both.
