Trumpet and flute were the lead instruments.
Does any one have demo's of this type of setup? i have an audio file that has this music playing. i would like to mimic that sound. (this is actually from trista and ryan's wedding)

I do not think you will be able to find that combination. That is a very unique combination -especially with the piano and trumpet. Also you will have problems locating music for that combination.
It will also have to be a group that always plays together - and this is the first time I have heard of such a request for that combination. I can help you with a great String Quartet or chamber ensemble with flute.

Re: Ceremony music

Greetings,

I agree with Stan, my that's a very unusual line-up! The only time I've ever shared lead with a trumpet was once in a avant garde jazz octet that performed at the Knitting Factory -- not what you're looking for!

Happily this is wonderful New York, you can have anything you want. But, if budget is at all a concern for you, you might want to consider an instrumentation line-up that is a little more conventional.

My two cents,
--Karla.

Re: Ceremony music

Actually, I played a wedding with:

harp -- flute -- cello -- trumpet -- vocalist

and I loved it!! We all thought it was great, and it came together very nicely.

The trick, I think, is to get very good musicians for it.

Call me if you want to talk about it. ...I didn't hear the music at the Trista/Ryan wedding, but I could listen to your recording of it.

If you listen to my sound clips here at LIWeddings.com, you can hear everything but a trumpet, and I do have a very good trumpeter that I like a lot.

Re: Ceremony music

Hi:

I have sent you information regarding this.
What we have performed as is:
Harp, Trumpet, Violin and Cello, and in fact we do have a sample of this very combination which is very newly recorded and which will be ready to send out in one week.

Oftentimes ensembles who have many recorded samples truly cannot include each and every possible combination.
If you like the sound of a particular ensemble and trust their musicianship and expertise perhaps they can help you to achieve the unique ensemble or combination you are looking for!

I have to say that I agree with Mr Wiest that the ensemble you request is not a usual combination. Furthermore, depending on the accoustics of your hall or church, I believe the sound of a flute, trumpet and piano together is a bit much/on the overly-bright side.

Watch for my e-mail.
Many thanks and take care!
