Ceremony Site Suggestions

I've book a reception hall in Miller Place for Summer '08. I've been looking for a wedding ceremony location that offers extraordinary beauty, an Indoor Plan B option, and a reasonable distance from Miller Place. I've tried local beaches, but was informed that chairs aren't allowed on the sand. I've also tried most every historic site in the area, but ran into problems with the Plan B. The Vanerbuilt Museum in Centerport is booked, as are all of the local Mansions and Estates. Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated? Thank you.

Little Portion Friary in Mt Sinai has an amazing outdoor chapel (and a turf labyrinth) but I don't know if they'd rent the space.

One of the photographers I work with just told me about a New Place in Port Jefferson. Some kind of Community Center on the water?

There are also mansions at some of the state parks that don't really cater to weddings so if you look at all the Suffolk County properties something might pop out at you.

When going with a venue that all you get is the location with no person setting up for you I have always recommend a DOC for my couples. I had a bride get 'a really good deal' on her chairs at the Vanderbilt mansion in Oakdale and when I got there an hour before start time they were all still in a pile on the lawn.
