I want to do a slide show of photos- maybe using powerpoint? I am not sure how to go about this and where to rent the projector.

Re: Computer projector/slide show
Running a photo montage at your reception will require a good deal of time and attention, which you may not want to concern yourself with on your day. I'd recommend arranging this through your DJ if you are having one. Those of us who offer photo montages provide rear projection screens, projector, computer, etc. We also create the show. I do not use powerpoint as there are other programs that provide much more interesting transitions between pictures.
FM me or call if you have any other questions.... I'd be happy to assist!

Re: Computer projector/slide show
Dear Sunny, Be aware that anytime you run a slide show etc. at a wedding reception it totally stops the flow of the reception-stops the dancing and changes the ambience of the setting. If it has to be done -it should only be done at the cake cutting time. I recently played a wedding with my band at the New York Botanical Gardens and the best man had a slide show presentation when he gave the toast. It totally stopped the flow of the function, delayed the orders being taken for the food and made it very hard to get the party started. The presentation lasted about 20 minutes-it seemed like it went on forever. Be very careful. Re: Computer projector/slide show
A photo montage need not necessarily stop the flow of the reception or take away from any dance time at all depending upon how it is structured. I would agree with Stan that many set it up in a way that does in fact inferfere with the smooth flow of the event and cuts into dance time. This is not always the case though.
There are many different ways to introduce the photo montage concept. I typically structure them very differently than many of my colleagues to address this very issue. My experience has shown that the benefits outweigh the drawbacks for those who have an interest in enhancing their event with this feature.

I agree with Michael. We use video screens (our video entertainment package) and it need not necessarily stop the flow of the event at all. I do recommend the presentation be no longer than 5 minutes, you'd be suprised just how long 5 minutes is !
Ask you dj about this option. For instance with our video entertainment option, you get the montage made for you using a real video editing studio (makes power point look ancient), you also get many other extras, ie. live video simulcasting on the big screens, digital zap shots on the big screens all night , and more.....
Ask you dj , or feel free to give me a call !
Don't worry , no need to be alarmed at all, it will work out fine ! ! ! Choose the time its played wisely... call me , I'll give you some time tested ways to go about it .
